Mia's POV:
Y/N opened the note she held, carefully unraveling it. A moment later we were startled by barks coming from the hallway on the right side of the stairs, though Y/N stayed calm and went to see what all the ruckus was. She placed the note back on the counter top of the kitchen island and walk down the hallway, looking back at us as she smiled. AG started for the hallway too trying to stop her. Out of no where the back door of the house closed and a voice over threw the barks. The barking ceased completely and all of us, still around the kitchen island stood still for a minute. Y/N started walking back and nodded her head, signaling AG that everything was alright.
"What was that?" I asked worried. I got no answer, but instead Y/N looks to the fridge. It was large and silver with a dry erase board on the front. She read the words on the dry erase board.
"The housekeeper!" She said coming to the realization that there must now be pets for therapy, and keeping stress and anxiety to the minimum level.
"Hello girls, I see you all arrived safely. I'm the housekeeper, Mrs. Vanderson. I usually come here once a day to feed the animals when there are no residents. There are six of them by the way. Two cats, two dogs, three Guinea pigs, and a Ball Python. Since you guys are here now though I must get going. I've already fed the dogs and taken them on a walk. By the way, these animals are all rescues and here to help with any mental health issues and here for companionship in general. I must be on my way now, though have a good day and stay safe." The housekeeper spoke quickly and had everyday, casual clothes on. She looked around 45 and was in a big rush. She grabbed her car keys off from by the front doors and walked out, waving us goodbye.
"That must've been why we all had to take that mental health survey the last time we came." AP said. Y/N looked back at the note sitting on the counter labeled 'Cottage Core'. She picked the piece of paper, unfolding it as she read it aloud.
"The Cottage Core room is a room that was recently built since last year. You may remember the survey that most of you took if you made it last year. The founders of the Tik Tok house, decided it is best to have emotional support animals and therapy dogs. The animals are housed in this room. A Tabby cat, a Calico cat, a Great Dane, a Golden Retriever, an Albino Ball Python, and three Guinea Pigs. Y/N, McKenna, and Soph have the jobs of feeding and walking or caring for the each animal and watering each plant once a day. Please be aware that all of these animals are rescues, and that they were given to us after they were cared for. Please handle these animals with care and cherish them. - Tik Tok"
All of us started for the wide staircase, forgetting for a minute about the bags and suitcases resting next to the front door. Once we got to the door Y/N opened the door, revealing a giant lounge room with plants in pots hanging from the ceiling, sunlight bursting though the window. There were three couches and a couple TVs. The python rested in a 20 gallon tank on a stretched out, tall table, to the left of the door. Both cats were asleep on the beige, large, couches sat in front of the TV hanging from the wall. The Guinea Pigs were in a large cage on the carpet, running around. I heard the two dogs coming up the stairs and turned around as one of them ran into my leg. It was the golden retriever. It shook it's head as the tag on the collar jingles. I knelt down and looked at the tag on the collar as everybody else noticed the Golden's presence.
"The name tag says Lavender for the retriever. Anyone know where the Great Dane is?" I asked curiously as the Great Dane quickly passed through the door and stopped. Both dogs were wagging their tails and panting, tongues out. The Great Dane was black with white splotches in a few spots. McKenna knelt down also, checking the Great Dane's tag.
"Sawyer." McKenna said, confused. "Is that supposed to mean something?" She asked. Y/N replied quickly.
"Sawyer after Sawyer's Black Viola flowers. I presume all the animals are named after plants, dependent on the room's name." She answered.
"This is gonna be complete chaos." Avery said, standing by the snake enclosure looking at the python.
"Yeah, it's gonna be total chaos, but the good kind." Sybil said, still examining the room closely.
