Chapter 23

Noah's POV

''You can prepare the meat while I cut the vegetables'' I said to Jax as I put our groceries out of the plastic bag and on top of the kitchen cabinet.

Jax took the meat and turned on the stove. ''I'm good at handling meat so that I can do'' he chuckled and smirked at me. I lightly hit him and held in my laugh as I turned a little red. ''Shut up''.

''Only if you make me'' he smirked once again. Only for me to give him a semi-serious face that was hard for me to hold as I wanted to let out the laughter I was holding inside.

As Jax prepared the meat, I finished cutting the vegetables and started to set the table. ''We should eat outside Noah. It's such nice weather today'' Jax said as I was about to put down the plate I still had in my hand. I looked towards the balcony and saw that it was indeed nice outside.

I took up the plate that I had already put down on the table and brought them outside on the balcony where I put both of our plates down. Afterward, I went inside to get some cutlery and glasses.

Jax finished the meat and helped me get the rest of the food outside and placed it on the table.

''This looks delicious'' I said as I rubbed my hands together while watching the food that I was ready to devourer.

Jax laughed at my gesture. ''What?'' I asked confused.

''You look like an evil mastermind when you do that'' Jax said as he imitated me rubbing my hands with an exaggerated evil expression on his face while looking at the food in front of us.

''I don't even care, I'm just really eager to start eating. I'm starving!'' I said as I started to fill my plate up. Jax did too and we were quiet for a moment as we started tasting the food we had been preparing for the last hour.

''So good!'' I said as I put some more food on my plate.

''It really is'' Jax said as he filled up our glasses with some water. We ate some more as we just spoke about the first time we met at the wrestling match between him and Aiden. The way he had stolen my first kiss at the party he invited me to the same night and how it turned into us making out.

It was kind of weird that we haven't seen each other since then. Still, it wasn't strange or awkward meeting him today. I was comfortable around him and he was making it easy to relax around him as he kept our conversation going and gave me attention when I had something to say.

''You want some dessert?'' I asked as we got quiet for a moment.

''Sure, that sounds good'' Jax smiled. I got up from my chair and went inside the kitchen. Once I was in the kitchen, I got inside my freezer to take out a box of ice cream. I looked for some cones that we had in one of the kitchen cabinets and started to scoop out some ice cream to put in the cones.

When I came back to the balcony, Jax was standing against the railing and looked at the view. I handed him a cone of ice cream as I got beside him, watching the view with him.

''Oh wow, fancy'' Jax said as I handed him his cone as he licked off some of the chocolate powder I had put on top.

''I know'' I chuckled. We looked over the city as we enjoyed the view and ice cream.

''You got some on your face'' Jax chuckled as he put his thumb right beside my lip and flicked some ice cream away. I blushed a little as his thumb moved away from my face.

I quickly looked away and Jax noticed as he laughed and put his arm over my shoulder and pulled me closer just to rub the top of my head.

As he was rubbing the top of my head I heard Brett come inside the flat when I heard his voice say hello when entering. I turned around and saw him get quiet once he saw me have a visitor over.
