Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy of Wiltshire, England, were proud to say that they were one of the wealthiest pure-bloods out of the sacred 28. They were the last people you'd expect to be hanging around a couple of muggles because they couldn't go against their pure-blood values.
Lucius, a Death Eater in Lord Voldemort's inner circle and one of his most trusted allies, was a tall, pale-faced man with silver-blonde hair and grey eyes. Narcissa (his wife) was a tall, slim woman with sky blue eyes and long golden-blonde hair. They were both from powerful, wealthy pure-blood families, Narcissa being from the Black Family, and Lucius from the Malfoy's.
Right after Lucius joined the Death Eaters, who shared the same views on blood purity, he participated in the First Wizarding War led by the most powerful wizard in which he served. However, Lord Voldemort's reign crumbled one faithful Hallowe'en night at the hands of infant Harry Potter after failing to rid him with the impeccable Killing Curse. Shortly after, all of the Lord's remaining Death Eaters were riled up and imprisoned, killed, even acquitted just like Lucius himself.
Lucius barely steered clear from imprisonment during a trial with the Ministry by claiming that he was acting under the imperius curse. Given that the Malfoys had connections in the Ministry that dated back centuries, he was free. Unlike most of his comrades, freedom meant that he and his wife could live an ordinary life.

__________________________________Our story begins on the 5th of June, 1980. The skies were as blue as the ocean, the sun beamed, through the high, yellow-tinted framed windows of St Mungo's Hospital. There laid a weakened new mother holding her child upon the hospital cot. She sweeps his thin luscious pale blond hair behind his tiny ears and kisses him on the forehead. As the child opened his eyes, Narcissa was awestruck to see that he had inherited most of his father's features more than her own. From his glistening icy-grey eyes, right up to his snowy-pale skin.
"What should we name him?" She asked, looking down at the precious boy she created.
"Something that would let him be known to many, feared, or even intimidating," Lucius said coldly.
"How about Leo?" She asked him in a soft tone.
"Something far more powerful than a pesky lion," he replied.
Her mind filled with thought for a moment, then her eyes filled with glee.
"Draco, Draco Lucius Malfoy." She said, looking very content with herself. She looked back up at Lucius to see that he had looked smitten to the name she had given him.2
__________________________________Nearly ten years had flown by, and Draco's birthday was the very next day. He lived a peaceful life growing in his wealthy home. His mother loved him dearly and spoiled him with every gift he had ever asked for. His father, however, was rather harsh on the boy and instilled the importance of blood purity enough for him to be able to recite values off the top of his head. Narcissa being the mother she is, bought Draco a new Comet Two Sixty as an early gift for his 11th birthday. He had been "preparing" for his future Quidditch matches by riding the broomstick up and down the countryside these past few days and couldn't get enough of it.
Dawn peaked through the curtains of the sky-high windows of his bedroom. Draco awoke to the sounds of magpies chirping away. He ruffled his emerald green blanket out of the way and propped himself up to the side of his bed to stretch and give a wide yawn. He stood and shuffled his way to the windows and hauled the weighted, velvet curtains out of the way for him to get blinded by sunlight.
"Happy Birthday, to me." He said to himself quietly. He jerked as soon as he heard a knock on his bedroom door. "Who is it?" He said clearly.
"Draco, your acceptance letter is here." His mother said in a pleasant tone.
"Be right there!" He said while struggling to get his bedroom slippers onto his feet. Draco ran out the door and rushed down the stairs only to bump into his father on the very last step.
"Happy, Birthday Draco." He had never heard anything more monotonous than his father saying those words — he thanked his father and was trotting his way to the long black dining table where there were a variety of sweet treats waiting for him. He sat himself down on his large wooden, cushioned chair and felt like a king.Draco was about to thank his mother when she slipped a thick, heavy envelope made of yellowish parchment right by his plate. He picked the envelope up and noticed there wasn't any stamp — he turned it around to find that a purple wax seal, bearing four animals, surrounded the letter 'H'. Without hesitation, found that there was a golden ticket that said ONE WAY TICKET — PLATFORM 9 ¾, and a letter that read:

__________________________________Excitement coursed through his veins as he hopped up and down while running rounds around the dining room. He rushed towards the open window where the scruffy-looking owl who delivered his letter stood. Draco yelled at his mother eagerly to get a quill, ink, and some parchment to write his reply. He stretched his arms out as he thought would get him a head start in writing as he snatched the items right out of her hand.
He slammed the parchment on the window sill, rolled it out, and started scribbling a note which said:
Dear Professor McGonagall,
I have received the acceptance letter and the ticket, and I would be delighted to be at this institution.Yours Truthfully,
Draco MalfoyJust like that, he rolled the parchment up, grabbed the claws of the owl, and forced it between its toes. The owl gave him a smug look before taking off in the distance until he lost sight of it. Draco took a step back and jolted as he heard a thud hit the ground.
"I thought we were sending him off to Northern Europe," Lucius said frigidly. "I've heard from Karkaroff that they wouldn't let people of other sorts in."
"I suppose that would be unfair to send him that far as he is only a child," Narcissa replied. Lucius gave a tsk and trotted away with his cane beside him.Draco paid no attention to this as he was daydreaming of what's to come. He had been waiting for the day he'd sorted into Slytherin since the day he was born.
