Chapter 7

"Nate is coming to get me." Kylie sighed.

"Are you going to be okay?"

"Yea, thanks for today."

"No problem. Hope everything works out between you guys."

"Thanks. Just be lucky you have a great guy."

"What do you mean?" I frowned, looking her over.

"Nothing, I have to go."

"Kylie."

"Just call me when you come home."

I heard Nate's car outside and I looked at her. She went for the door and left. I hate when she does this. Even when I do call her later she still won't tell me. I love her and all, but that's one thing that makes me mad.

I started to get ready since John should be on his way soon. I wonder if he knows anything. Even if he did I don't know if he would tell me. Nate seems like an okay guy. There was knock on the door, I went over to the door opening it. My dad was standing right there.

"What you doing tonight?" Dad asked.

"John is coming to get me soon."

"I still don't like that guy."

"Dad he's not a bad guy. He took care of me all day yesterday."

"You keep saying he's a good guy, but I still don't believe it. There is something about him."

"Dad just stop. You're not the one dating him, I am. If he is a bad guy then I will figure it out on my own."

"I'm just looking out for you. You're my little girl I don't want to see you hurt."

"Thank you dad, but I can handle this."

"Okay fine. I love you honey."

"I love you too dad."

He gave me a hug and I went back to getting ready. John really is so good to me. I can see a future with us as long as it keeps going the way it is.

Finally, John was here and I went downstairs. My dad was sitting in his chair when I got downstairs. I looked at him and he looked at me.

"Be back by eleven."

"Okay."

I walked out the door and went to his car. When I got in I kissed his cheek. He looked at me and smiled. He leaned over giving me a kiss before we pulled away leaving.

"Where are we going?"

"You will see." He smirked.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure, what's up?"

"Is Nate a bad guy to Kylie, does he hit her or anything?"

"Why?"

"Because, when she was with me, she said he coming to get her. I said hope things work out, and she said you're lucky you have a great guy. The way she said it bothered me."

"I don't know. We don't really talk about them. He will say a couple of things about her, but it's not much. Just keep talking to her and I will see what I can find out."

I moved closer and kissed his cheek.

"Thank you."

"Kylie is right about one thing. You do have a pretty great guy that is also cute."

"Did you really just call yourself cute?"

"Maybe."

"Well, you are pretty cute. She's wrong though, you're not great, you're amazing."
