Most days, Levy loved her job. It was perfect for her. She loved books and coffee so she was never really bored. And whenever she needed company, one of her best friends would stop by with her boyfriend for coffee dates or just so she can buy new books. But today wasn't one of those days. Hardly anyone had come into the little bookstore café. And it was raining, meaning she'd have to wait until it stopped so she could walk to her apartment that was a little bit away from the café.
The petite woman sighed as she rested her head in her hand. She had already finished the book Lucy had suggested — well, more like insisted — she read. Now she had nothing else to do. She could always start a new book. But she couldn't leave the register unattended. After a couple minutes of contemplating, Levy figured nobody would be coming in anytime soon anyways, so she made her way over to the romance section that was further back in the store.
Levy looked around for what seemed like forever until she finally spotted a book that interested her. The blue-haired female started reading the first page and somewhere along the way, she must've gotten lost in the pages because when she looked up at the sound of the bell in the front aggressively being rung, she was already on the sixth chapter. Levy cursed underneath her breath and rushed to the front of the store, going as fast as her short legs would take her.
"I am so sorry! I wasn't expecting anyone to come in and I was getting carried away reading a book and I didn't hear the bell ringing and...I'm rambling aren't I?" Levy rushed out as she stepped behind the counter, her face flushing red in embarrassment. She moved her gaze to the person in front of her.
The man before her was tall. Like, really tall. Then again, most people were in her perspective. He was intimidating, that's for sure. He had several piercings and Levy swore she could see a tattoo on his neck. His long, black hair was messily pulled into a bun and he wore a slightly annoyed expression.
He looked down at Levy and his annoyed expression almost disappeared completely and a look of realization replaced it.
"Hey, you're Natsu's girlfriend's friend right? I've seen you around before," The guy spoke, his deep voice almost causing Levy to flinch. He knew Natsu and Lucy?
"Ah, yeah! I'm Levy. I don't recall seeing you with Natsu though," Levy introduced herself, shooting the tall male a smile. She didn't know how she hadn't seen him before, he was impossible to miss.
The guy shrugged, a small smile playing at his lips as well. "I only hang out with Dragneel occasionally. When I do, Blondie usually isn't with him. I'm Gajeel, by the way."
"Well, it's nice to meet you Gajeel," Levy frowned before quickly glancing up at him, "Oh my gosh! I almost forgot, sorry. What can I help you with?"
Gajeel chuckled at the petite woman. Levy's face turned red once again. "I'll just take a cup of coffee to go, nothing in it."
Levy gave the tall male an amused look before turning around to make his coffee. Within a few moments, Gajeel was handed his cup of coffee. He nodded in thanks before paying.
"Well, hope to see you around."
"Ah! Same to you. It was nice meeting you, Gajeel," Levy smiled and waved to the tall male as he walked out the door.
As soon as the petite woman turned around, her face flushed and she smiled to herself. She really hoped she did see him again.
