Too Many Faces

Chapter 2

Haleigh POV

I plugged my headphones in, and turned on my music, singing along and thinking about the new guy. I felt him staring at me, but I was used to it. Giuli came and sat down next to me, giving me a nudge. She mouthed something and I shrugged. Nick leaned behind me and stuck his hand out. Giuli shook it and they introduced themselves. I spaced out again. Mr. Salas interrupted my daydreaming and started the lesson.

Thank goodness that's over. Mr. Salas spent the entire period talking about cells, and the difference between animal and plant cells. Nick looked like he was paying attention but he didn't seem the type of guy to care about school. Mr. Salas gave is an essay to write, but at least it's due next week. Giuli walked beside me but immediately left when she saw Damon. Sigh. I headed over to the water fountain. Of course Amanda was there. Just like every other day of high school. We headed to English, and sat next to each other. The teacher immediately moved Amanda. Nick appeared on the doorway, and asked the teacher where to sit. She pointed to the empty seat next to me. Seriously? How often am I going to see this guy? At least Giuli was in Biology with me. Here, I was alone, because Amanda got moved to the opposite side of the room. I stuck my hand out to him

"Haleigh," he nodded,

"Nick" he said. His green eyes bored into my brown ones.

"how goes it?" yes, I know I'm weird.

"uh... Fine I guess. I mean, I just moved and am totally new and hoping I don't get hated on" before I could stop my mouth I said

"why don't you hang with me and my friends" oh shit. Why the hell did I say that? He brightened considerably

"thanks!" Amanda stared at me and I blushed.
