Finn just stood there looking at the departing car that left him in front of an old-looking mansion in the middle of nowhere.
The songs that usually plagued Finn's head were now silent; even they knew that this was not the time for it.
Finn was left there when finally got the guts to talk to his mother about the things that he didn't understand like when to say hi to someone that you know from afar and are nearing each other and his inability to maintain focus in conversation sometimes. But what he got were not answers but one simple word 'Freak'.
His mother was not the most loving woman that he knew but she fed him, clothed him, and treated him well, but that ended when he talked about the things that were going on in his mind.
Now he was left there, in the middle of nowhere with just a small bag of clothes.
"Ummm now what? I only have one option now, and that is to leave, but I don't know where I am. And if I go knock on that door to ask for directions? But maybe it's abandoned? But even if I get directions where will I go? I don't have money with me."
Knock knock
'Please don't think bad of me, I am not doing this because I want, I'm doing it because I really don't know where I am. I just remember entering another town'
Finn started to get anxious, his anxiety was not helping him at times like this. When he decided that it was an abandoned house and was about to leave, the door opened.
"Yes?"
A tall man appeared from inside the house looking at Finn with judging eyes, eyes that he hated the most, he didn't know what to do when someone that he didn't know began to judge him; he didn't know how to act in front of them for them to stop.
"Umm, Hi. I'm kinda lost. Could you tell me how to return to the city?".
Finn didn't even know what he was going to do once in the city, but it was way better than sleeping in the middle of a forest. He had read and seen enough movies and novels to know that nothing good came out of the forest at night.
The man looked at Finn like he said something weird which only made Finn's anxiety increase. He began to play with his hand in front of him to try to waste some of the energy that his body was pumping since it believes that there was some kind of danger nearby.
"Do you know that the city is like 3hrs away, by car, right? And how did you even get here in the first place?" The man asked as he began to get closer to Finn with an intimidating stance or at least that is why it looked to him.
"As I said before, I got lost," Finn said with the calmest voice he could emit and took a couple of steps back. He didn't like people being too close to him since for him it felt like their space was deforming his; it didn't feel good.
"Yeah, I heard, but this is the middle of nowhere. There is nothing in a 3hr distance around here, so you getting lost is..." The man suddenly noticed the bundle that Finn had forgotten about and was left on the road where his mother had thrown it before she left.
Finn looked in the direction that the man was looking and saw his only possession, so he went to collect them only to return to the same place that he was before.
"But I am truly lost. I just want to know in specific detail how to get to the city or to a place with people" Finn said as the man studied him. He tried to appear as normal as possible, but the constant look of the man was causing his skin to heat, he never like people watching him.
"I didn't hear about a new addition, maybe it was because there was too much happening recently, but oh well, why don't you come in first to get you settled in."
