𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕀𝕟𝕧𝕚𝕥𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon. Yellow had gone down to check the mail to their apartment building. They weren't expecting anything special except maybe bills and coupons to shops that had just opened promising '25% OFF YOUR FIRST PURCHASE!'. What they found was quite... unexpected. They grabbed the mail and entered their apartment, calling over their roommate, Cyan, to discuss what they had found.
"I found this letter in the mail. It seemed to have been partially opened already."
Yellow added with a confused frown. They looked down at the red enveloppe with white polka dots adorning it. That wasn't out of the ordinary, but the contents of the enveloppe were. It contained a navy blue sheet of paper, probably a letter. It also had white dots on it, but much less evenly spaced than the ones on the enveloppe, and much smaller too. They were like stars. The font and the background mixed together due to the similarity in colour. Yellow had a lot of trouble reading it. After some efforts, the roommates could decipher it. It said;
'Hello and welcome. You have been selected amongst 8 other participants to participate in a social experiment that will take place in space. If you wish to participate in the experiment, please sign at the bottom of the letter and send it back to the original address.

Cyan raised a nonexistant eyebrow.
"In space? Give me a fucking break. Let's just throw this joke away."
Yellow quickly stopped their roommate and turned the letter around.
"Hold on- it says that whoever completes the experiment will get heavily rewarded."
Cyan was suddenly much more interested. They looked around themselves to see their rat infested, moldy and cold apartment. Everything was there to make their lives harder, really. They could really use a bit of money. They reluctantly changed their mind about the letter.
"Alright then. We should both sign at the bottom of the letter. We'll send it back later."
Yellow agreed, and they did just that. They waited a week, but still didn't get a letter back. Strangely though, after a 10th day, a car parked in front of the apartment building and said they had somewhere important to take them. Yellow and Cyan were hesitant at first because not much people would trust a random figure claiming to have somewhere to take them. The car drove them to some kind of station that definitely wasn't anywhere near their town. The only person standing there was a mysterious figure with a black crow mask. They welcomed both and spoke.
"Welcome participants. If you have any cellphones, please give them to me or dispose of them before the trip begins. The ship will launch in a few hours. A few participants have yet to arrive. I will explain to you the way that this is going to work. We will perform multiple rounds of which one of you will be a... fake of some sort. You will not know who it will be, and you will not know what they will do. You are not in any real danger. Probably. Succeed in this experiment and you will be handsomely rewarded. Good luck, and please step foot into this van. It will drive you to said aircraft."
Cyan and Yellow were kind of sus but got in nonetheless. They were indeed driven to the desired location and got into the spaceship. They were greeted by 5 other people, who introduced themselves as Pink, Orange, Black, Dark Green, Lime and Dark Blue. The other participants didn't show up until later and did like the previous, introducing themselves as White, Red and Purple. The strange masked figure appeared before them yet again.
"The ship will now launch, good luck, and we will further inform you as the experiment progresses"
They said before disappearing. All the participants were visibly confused. Just then they heard a rumble and were all handed a sheet with a map, certain tasks and a big bold word on top of it. Both Yellow and Cyan had gotten
CREWMATE
They didn't know what that exactly meant, but they were told to keep the sheets private. They were then told to scatter around the spacecraft. Yellow was nervous. They had never been in space, like most other people. Cyan was already off to do their tasks so Yellow ended up alone. They were now alone with Purple, who seemed harmless. But appearances could sometimes be deceiving.
