Dear Diary

At school my form tutor can come up with the worst consequences for things you do that are against the rules. We all used to think she was joking but then she actually made people do it. Her newest one was if you got caught chewing gum you would have to scrape all the chewing gum off the underside of the desk. This rule has only been in action for a week and already 3 people have ahd to do it. It is so gross. When the first person did it loads of people watched and saw him practically throwing up, most people who were watching him were gipping as well. I was anyway. But even after he did that he still kept chewing gum and kept on getting caught for it. Others did too.

Teachers and parents must know that consequences don't always work so why do they do them. People are just going to carry on doing it anyway and keep having the same consequence and it will soon just be part of their daily routine do have to do it. So why do people still do them if it wont stop the person?
