(Yes, this roleplay is back and ready for roleplaying! Due to schedule conflicts, sickness, and school, the roleplay had to be put on pause for a while.)
It has been three months since The Evolved began dropping like flies due to a plague-like mysterious sickness with no evident cause. The plague swept through the Evolved, causing their numbers to drop drastically. It seemed like it would surel spell extinction for this new human race that had only just begun.
That was all before the brilliant scientist, Doctor Monhinder Suresh, made a break through in the disease. His discovery lead to not only a cure for the infected Evolved, but something much, much more.
He discovered the specific gene that had evolved to allow for super-human abilties, and how to evoke the very same change in that gene of every other normal human being out there. He had found a way to evolve every human out there into the newer, better human race.
Since that day, the serum that evokes evolution has been mass produced, and made available to everyone in the world. While many have flocked to distribution sites to be injected with the serum, many humans have risen up in protest against the serum. They believe it to be evil, and that it will only lead to humanity's destruction.
On the flip side, an even darker organization is forming in the shadows with the belief that average humans are not worthy of the powers that the serum will bring; that only those who were born evolved are worthy.
Which side are you on? Are you a human with the desire to become one of The Evolved? Are you a human against the evils of the serum? Are you one of the original Evolved that believes only those born like you should have such abilties? Or are you one of the few surviving Evolved who is just caught somewhere in the middle? In this world, things are so much more complicated that just good or evil. But, one thing is for sure; there is a darkness rising. Will you step up to keep it at bay?
(This roleplay is part original, and part fan fiction. I have borrowed many ideas for the plot, characters, and powers from shows such as The 4400, Heroes, and many others. I don't own those ideas, I've only put them together to bring you this roleplay. You don't need to have seen any of the shows to know what was going on.)
