Fire and Ice Trials

Matthews POV

I woke up and found Cayden on the ground a few feet away. We were in a dark area and I could only tell it was him from the brightness of his armor. I woke him up and we started to explore the area.
"Cayden you mind giving off a little light?" I asked. He snapped his fingers and a ball of light started hovering above us and lit up the whole area. "Thanks."
We noticed what the area was. We were in a cave. A giant cave and there were two men standing in there with us. One wore an armor made of the same material as Cayden but his had shoulders that had spikes going out that looked like flames from the sun. The other man had armor made of Oceanium, the metal my armor was made of, but his had spikes on his shoulders poking out like tusks everywhere and his helmet didn't have a tusk (which looks ridiculous now) but had shells on the side and instead of a normal ancient helmet with feathers his was shark teeth.
The one dressed in my armor had sea green eyes and his hair was ocean blue. He looked like he could snap a tree in half like a twig. The one in Cayden's armor had golden hair and golden eyes and looked like he could snap a tree like a twig as well. They had our original weapons as well.
"Welcome heroes." The one in my armor said. His voice sounded like waves crashing against the shore.
"We are your trials." The one in Cayden's armor said. "You must defeat us to pass. I am Aether."
"And I am Hydros." The one in my armor said. "Now are you ready?"
"Who are you both?" I asked.
"We are the original heroes. Only in our times we are called the Primidorials." Aether said.
"But you all died I thought?" Cayden said.
"That we did. God brought our spirit back to fight you. We've been given our bodies back for this and then we must leave again." Hydros said.
"I see. So we must defeat you?" I asked. They nodded. "Let's begin."
I grabbed my trident and Cayden grabbed his long sword. Hydros grabbed his trident as well and Aether took out his axe. We than all ran at eachother.
Cayden sprouted wings and flew into the air. He flew down and went to strike Hydros but Hydros blocked. Aether tried to get me with his axe but I blocked and created a mini hurricane around me. Cayden kept diving at Hydros until Hydros finally knocked him out of the sky.
Cayden fell down in and crashed on the opposite side of the cave from me. "Cayden!" I yelled. Aether went to strike again but this time I put extra force on the hurricane and it sent him flying. I ran to Cayden and helped him get up. Hydros and Aether had regrouped and than did something I really didn't expect.
Hydros summoned a hurricane and Aether summoned some fire and blasted us with a fiery hurricane. A second before it hit I had a wall of ice cover us though it was melting fast. The wind stopped and than before I could react Hydros burst through the ice and knocked my trident out of my hand and kicked me back a few feet.
I got up and took out my daggers. I noticed the underground stream in the cave. I than got an idea. I ran at him and forced the water to move with me. Everytime I struck the water would strike him. It was like having a combat avatar of water mimicking my moves. Eventually I knocked the trident out of his hands. He pulled out his daggers and him and I clashed. I managed to catch a glimpse at Cayden who seemed to be fairing well.

       Cayden's POV

Aether and I seemed to be matched well. We sprouted wings and kept took to the air clashing with our swords. Eventually we both knocked the others sword out of our hands and switched to axes. We matched eachother blow for blow. Eventually I got the upper hand when I dodged a strike and slashed at his wing.
He fell down to the ground and I threw my axes at him. Each struck him in the shoulder. He pulled them out like t didn't hurt and got his bow out as I did.
We kept firing arrows until he managed to get one stuck in my wing. I never thought something that wasn't apart of me would hurt but even though it was made of energized light that hurt like hell. I fell down and got back up and noticed the arrow flying at my face. I ducked and launched some arrows back. We kept firing arrows until we ran out. Than he did something that I didn't know either of us could do.
He created a giant combat avatar made of gold energy like our wings. His avatar was looked like a giant version of him in his armor and with his sword. It looked like it took a lot of his energy because he was sweating like crazy in the middle of it. I had the light bring me my sword like the shadows did for Caleb and I decided to see if I could do that.
I focused and than felt spent of energy. I opened my eyes and I was in a avatar too. Aether and I clashed for another ten minutes before I knocked him down. I blocked his strike, knocked his sword out of his hands and than cut off the legs of his avatar.
His avatar dispersed and before he could get up I stomped on him with my avatar. He tried to get up again but collapsed. I dispersed my avatar and than went to help Matthew but I couldn't walk or do anything. So I collapsed beside Aether.
"Good job kid." He said as he spat up some blood. "You passed the trial. Now let's see how your friend does against my brother."

     Matthews POV

I saw Cayden go complete badass on Aether. I kept fighting Hydros though. Hydros stopped for a second to look at they're fight.
"Since when can he do that?" He said. "All I can do is make the water fight like you did." He kept trying to cut me to pieces the entire time he said that.
"You mean like this?" I said before having the water uppercut him.
"Yes exactly like that. Except I prefer this!" He said as he sent out a set of rapid strikes that the water mimicked and beat me to the point that I fell down.
He came towards me and before he could do anything I locked daggers. We struggled until we knock eachothers daggers across the floor. We went for our axes. I got to mine sooner and threw it expertly and knocked his out of his hand. Now the only problem was Id have to go hand to hand with a guy who looks like he bench presses 30,000,000lbs for a practice.
Than I got an idea. When he got close I sent out a hurricane force wind that probably reached 300 mph and it sent him flying into the wall. Than I had the water make a trident that I turned into ice and threw at him before he could get up. Than, as a little overkill, I summoned icicles to relentlessly pound him for another two minutes.
I walked over to make sure I didn't kill him and stirred. "Nice job Matthew. You passed." He said. "Aether! You know what to do now!"
Than all I saw was Aether and Cayden's body float in the air. I saw a blinding light and than Aether was gone. Only now Cayden has his armor and glowed with twice the power he had. Than I noticed I was floating in the air. Only when Hydros came near me wind started picking up around us exploded when Hydros and I merged.
I collapsed on the ground. I was in Hydros' armor and could feel the power running through me. Ethos appeared at that moment.
"You have passed. Now sleep boys. You have earned it." Than everything went black.
