A second chance

Long introductions

              He is gonna introduce me to his friends? I get really excited and nervous at the thought of meeting new people. What if he told them about me and I don't meet their expectations? No, I gotta stay positive, nothing bad is gonna happen. All these thoughts run through my head as a walk home from the ice cream place.

          I open the door and enter my house.

          "Where were you?" My mom asks as I open the door. Not again. I don't want to deal with her crap.

          "Getting ice cream." I hiss as I walk into the living room.

           "Well next time tell me where you're going." She smiles. I hate how she goes from being a complete jerk to a perfect mother figure. I-It just doesn't make sense. I sit on the couch and Mai jumps up next to me. *bing* I check my phone. Just as I expected I got a text from Jaiden.

             At what time can we meet up again? I can introduce you to my friends.

             It's currently 2:00 so around three should be a good time. I then reply with.

                     Is 3 ok?

            I'll ask the group and tell you what time fits everyone in a minute.

               I put my phone down and only a minute later he texts me if it's ok to meet at the park at 3. I have nothing else to do and I've been looking forward to getting some more friends. Hopefully, this doesn't end horribly.

                I look at my phone, it's 2:57. I look ahead of me to find the park entrance gates as well as Jaiden, a girl, and another boy. I walk up to the entrance. Jaiden waves at me so I wave back.

             "Jaiden is that your girlfriend!" The girl smiles and then runs up to me. "You must be Lexie," She smiles, shaking my hand. "I'm Sophie, One of Jaiden's close friends." She looks at me with her electric blue eyes. Her hair is in two buns that sit on the top of her hair. The ends of her black hair fade purple and besides one of the buns, there is a moon clip in her hair. She is wearing a long-sleeved purple and light purple striped shirt that covers her hands.

            "Well, it's nice to meet you." I smile breaking the handshake and walking towards Jaiden.

            "Well, that's Sophie as you already know." Jaiden smile. " Over here is Hunter. Jaiden then motions to the other boy. He is wearing a tank top and shorts. He has short brown hair with the ends bleached blonde as well as bottle green eyes with black glasses.

         "Hey," he says waving. "So your Jaidens girlfriend? What do you like to do for fun?" Fun. I haven't had much fun in a while.

        "I do like to draw and paint," I say enthusiastically

          "Sounds interesting. I prefer sports." He comments "especially basketball."

         "Issac, Daniel, and Lucas should be here any minute," Jaiden states as we all stand in front of the park entrance.

         After a few minutes of talking. A boy runs up to us. He has black hair and brown skin. He's wearing a red shirt and the end of the sleeves are yellow. He's also wearing blue jean shorts and black sneakers.

        "Sorry, I'm late." He huffs out of breath.

           "You're only one minute late Daniel," Sophie says showing him the time with her phone

         "Oh, well then I'm on time. Is this your girlfriend?" He looks at me. " I see why you like her, I mean look at that as-. Ow!. Daniel shrieks as Sophie interrupts what he was saying by slapping him on the back of the head.

          "What was that for," Daniel whines rubbing the back of his head.

       "You know what that was for you idiot," Sophie says dragging him away from me, Jaiden and Hunter.

         I hear footsteps coming from behind me. I turn around to see a blonde with a blue and light blue striped T-shirt, grey pants, sneakers, a black and blue hat, and some teal earrings.

           "This is Issac," Jaiden says, introducing Issac.

              "Hiya, I'm Issac like Jaiden said." Issac smiles. Sophie then walks up with Daniel next to him.

            "This is Daniel," she introduces him. " He didn't Introduce himself earlier so now I have to. Basically, he's A big dumbass." Jaiden chuckles nervously, slightly embarrassed about Sophie and Daniel's behavior.

       I notice someone walking towards us.

         "Sorry, I'm late I was kinda busy." The boy says. He has black hair, green eyes, and blues glasses. He's wearing a red top with a short-sleeved jacket thing on top as well as blue jean shorts and sneakers

       "Hi Lexie, I'm Lucas," he smiles. "Jaidens said a lot of good things about you." I look at Jaiden and then back at Lucas. What kinds of things did he say?

          The rest of the day was filled with fun and laughter. Have I finally gotten some real friends I ask myself as I walk home? I think I have.
