This City gave me Asthma-15

I laid in the grass, looking up into the 4 o'clock sky.

Wilbur just kissed me.

The worst part about this will be telling Tommy. And Niki. Poor Niki. She loves him. He was going to give her a promise ring. Wilbur was sat laying beside me.

"I'm going to drive you home now." I said, getting up and starting my car.

"Wait." He said, grabbing my wrist.

I looked him dead in the eyes. "Did you not feel anything?"

"Look. I love Tommy. You're, y'know, 23. I'm 17. We've been friends forever. I dunno what you want me to say. Sure, I love you. But I'm not sure how you want me to act."

He looked stunned. "But-"

I pressed my finger to his lips. "No. I'm sorry. Not now, probably not ever."

I opened the car door and sat down, waiting for him to get inside. The car was nice and cold, but I was perfectly fine shivering in Tommy's sweatshirt.

I drove down the road, my headlights beaming. He opened his mouth.

"Tom."

He shut it, and got out of the car, going around to grab his bag.

"Goodbye Will." I said, rolling up the window, silent tears coming out of my eyes. I can't believe he's gone and done this.

I opened my phone.

Fuck.

My best friend. ILY and im so sorry.

The photo of him giving me a piggyback ride on the beach, with both my sandals slipping off. I was smiling, my blonde hair on one side of my body. He was smiling, his hair out of his face, his eyes closed. The resort shirt Niki bought him was loosely hanging off his body.

That was my favorite picture. I drove off to my house, and sat in the driveway once I got there.

How the fuck am I supposed to tell Tommy?
