Erica's POV
"Mom, he's on the move" I reported as I strolled into the kitchen. My mother looked up at me, a little surprise etched in her face.
"On the move?" she repeated.
"Our target is heading towards Boston, going up from the south. I suspect our target is up to something" she replied, setting down her phone on the counter. Catherine took it and glanced down at it. She nodded and set it back down, she looked back up at me.
"I appears our agenda has changed, dear" Catherine took out a grappling hook. "We must go, now. Before the enemy finds him first."
Later.....
"I don't see why this 'Ben' is so important" I commented as I watched the map, Ben's dot traveling slowly towards Boston. We zipped passed McDonalds, Starbucks, and gas stations, everything blending together like they where in a blender.
"He is a fine spy, brilliant at finding out things. He is weak in fighting and other subjects like that, but otherwise strong in all his classes and if the enemy find him, who knows what they could do" Catherine glanced out the window.
"I still don't see anything wrong with leaving him to the wolves" I mumbled, rolling my eyes and looking up for the first time in an hour.
"Erica!" scolded Catherine. I felt a sharp poke inside me and winced at her scolding. I pushed it away and replied, "Sorry, mother."
Two hours later.....
Two hours later our target stopped at a hotel near the outskirts of Boston. We pulled up at the old hotel, I almost gagged when I saw it. It had cracked windows, crumbling walls, and animals tended to run through cracks and surprise random tourist. To makes things worse, the smell of mildew reeked from every crack and nook. I pushed the car door open and got out, Catherine behind me.
I wrinkled my nose, not wanting to go anywhere near it but I had to for the mission. I though about how I would please my mother, and how this would help us. Despite my whole bodies protest I shoved the rusted doors open and walked inside. The inside looked worse than the outside. A mouse scurried passed my foot and hurried down a pipe where the smell of mildew was so strong and toxic I had to hold my nose.
I walked up to the clerk behind the desk. His eyes bagged and he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here.
"Hello" he said, giving us a weak smile. "Would you like to book a room?" He gave me a hopeful look. "It's only twenty dollars a night."
He gave me a small beat up, out dated, shattered and cracked Ipad. I scrolled down to see a name line, how many days line, and tips line.
I scrolled down even further to see someone named Jon Bill checked out of here a few nights ago, and then finally she saw her target. Ben Ripley, 4 days, $20 tip. I scrolled up and entered. Elizabeth Green, 3 days, and since I felt bad a $15 dollar tip. He smiled as I handed it back to him.
"Thank you" he said in relief, I remained emotionless. Me and my mom turned and headed towards the creaking rusted door.
"It was nice to meet you!" Catherine waved, I rolled my eyes as the door slammed closed and we marched into our molding, crumbling, awful room. Not to mention it was tiny. I sighed.
For the mission. For the mission, I thought.
"Wow, I can't believe we paid forty dollars for this dump" I wrinkled my nose.
"Let's not worry about the room" my mom said. "That won't help anything," Catherine grabbed some camera's and grease paint, "time to do some scouting."
Hi, thanks for reading! Sorry this is kind of short!
P.S. If your wondering why I haven't updated in a while it's because when I tried to make Chapter 7 I accidentaly deleted half of it and then I forgot to save it. So, it's going to be a while until I publish a new chapter, sorry.
