Y/N POV
"Hey.. earth to Y/N..? Did I offend you?" Akira quietly asked.
I snapped out of my daydream, looking up at him. I faintly smiled, and shook my head. He returned the faint grin, moving out of the aisle so that I may exit.
"When's the reception?" Jia peppily asked.
"Seven," Akira stated.
"That's a large time gap," she mumbled.
"It gives us more time to enjoy the beach nearby before leaving tomorrow morning," I bluntly said.
"You're right," Jia answered. "But..."
"But?" Akira questioned.
"It'll just have to be the two of you. I wanna get some sleep so I can leave after the reception since I have to be at the University extra early tomorrow," she finished.
"Ah, right. I forgot about that," I responded.
"'Mm," she hummed.
A comfortable silence fell over the three of us as we continued to the car.
"Want me to drop you off at the hotel?" Akira asked, glancing at Jia through the rear view mirror.
"Yes please," she said, politely.

"I'll see you guys at the reception then?" Jia asked as she waved goodbye.
"Mm, do you need money for a taxi in the morning?" I questioned.
"No, thanks though," she said with a bright smile. "Have fun you two!!"
She winked over at the two of us before dashing up the steps to the hotel doors. Akira scoffed, beginning to drive off. I held my gaze on the sky and buildings we passed outside the window, focused on nothing but the silence and beauty of the small town.

As my feet came in contact with the soft, pale sand, I decided it would be best I take off my shoes. I gently slid them off my feet, but was slightly surprised when Akira took them from my hands.
"You don't have to-"
"I want to."
