After that filling lunch, the others went home to get some ninja stuff. That's where they're wrong though, it's just a C rank mission. There's no need for any of that right now.

The walk towards the gate was long and tedious with no one to talk to, but hey, that's normal for me.

Upon my arrival, I notice a comfy spot to rest against the old worn-down wooden gate. The soil feels cool against my body as I slide to the ground. The soft smell of flowers and fresh earth, with the sun basking sunlight over my body, relaxes me. With the help of a cool breeze, I slowly start to go to sleep. That is until multiple annoying voices wake me up from my slumber. Curses slip from under my breath before sitting up and looking at whom was annoying me.

In front of me stands a bickering Naruto and Sakura, a quietly brooding sasuke, and a yammering drunk named Tazuna. Kakashi kinda just stood there with his hands in his pocket.

What a mood.

The gates open as we make our way through. Of course, Naruto had to be in front. As soon as he passed the threshold of the village, he starts cheering out.

"Yeah!! Alright!" He exclaims with his hands in the air like he just won an arcade game or something. "What are you getting so excited about, Naruto?" Sakura asks in the snottiest way possible.

"This is the first time I've been out of the hidden leaf village! I'm a traveler now! Believe it!" He says as though he's on the lookout for something.

The old man then comes up to point at Naruto. "Am I supposed to trust my life to this runt? He's a joke."

Narutos' mood immediately deflates, making him look pissed off. It takes a whole lot of willpower to not yell at the old man for making Naruto upset. Thankfully Kakashi starts speaking before it leads me to do that. "He's with me, and I'm a Jonin, so you don't need to worry."

"Hey, never insult a ninja. It's a big mistake! And I'm one of the greatest ninja ever! Someday I'm going to be a Hokage, and you'll look up to me. My name is Naruto Uzumaki. Remember it!" Naruto points at the old geezer before glaring at me for letting a giggle slip out due to his overconfident remark. "And I heard that giggle, Adri!"

The bridge builder continued to diss Naruto until naruto had enough and tried to throw hands. Once again, Kakashi stops him by his collar with a reminder that we're supposed to protect the client, not attack him.

Further down our walk, Sakura asks if there's any ninja in Tazuna's village. Kakashi then explains, "Some places don't rely on ninjas as the hidden leaf does. For example, the hidden leaf depends on ninjas for strength and protection and has no government, while the land of waves relies on natural protection like the sea. The five ancient lands that possess shinobi villages are the land of fire, water, lightning, wind, and earth. Together they are known as the 5 great shinobi nations. Each has a Kage, like in our case, the land of fire has the Hokage."

My eyes accidentally harden into a glare as I ponder whether or not the old man really is all that important.

"Did you all just doubt the Hokage, huh?" Kakashi asks, a little shocked. My eyes widen before bowing my head and apologizing profusely.

"It will be fine," he reassures us, "There won't be any ninja battles on this mission." he gives a closed eye smile through his mask as he pats Sakura's head.
