The rain shudders down the car. "Hey Jack, are we close yet? I'm getting worried about this storm." Sweating bullets as the rain thundered down harder "Yea don't worry about a thing Willow, I know a shortcut!" He said enthusiastically, chuckling when his sister jumped at the sound of the thunder "Just watch the road will you!" She grumbled, "oh calm down."
I grumbled as I hear sounds surrounding me. A machine is beeping at a rhythmic state, having one minute in between each alert. There's also talking, and... crying? I hear walking and running, people shouting, people saying goodbyes or I love you's. I hear metal screeching and many many different contraptions beeping and buzzing. At one point I hear nothing. Just the sound of breathing and quiet sobbing. That's when I notice I'm not alone.
I don't open my eyes, just sigh. I hear someone standing up as a door closes. They speak in hushed tones and suddenly one cries out, "Jack! J-Jack..." a women's voice, shrill and in distress, as she screams a name. Jack. Jack. Who is Jack? "M-my poor b-b-baby..." I hear the women begin saying nonsense to herself, just as I think it's only her left I hear a deep voice, most likely a mans voice, "Mrs Forrest I know you are in grieving, but may I remind you that your daughter is still alive. She has to wake up eventually, from everything we have seen she should be perfectly healthy" I hear another choked sob before she replied "but how l-long do I have to wait..." she said quietly. He reply's In a hushed tone and I hear shuffling and a door close. I'm alone.
