The day was well on its conclusion, all the dust of bystanders and participants settling to the group. The crowd dispersed with a cacophony of sounds from murmuring to shouts of excitement. The focus was on 5 people, all average in looks and demeanor. Age ranging from teen to middle age, their names becoming more synonymous each day. All shoulder to shoulder, treating each other as equals. 2 females and 3 males, a unique group by the standards of every other group that ever made any notice by the throngs of fans that looked on as each battle took place. This world had many games and sporting events that took place in any given public forum, mostly for the benefit and publicity of the makers, which involved a digital display interface which allowed anyone with the proper equipment to interact with it and all others left unaffected by what they saw. In this game, the newest game to hit the market, one which required players to go all around the provinces and different regions just to hunt out and find Monsters of varying sizes and looks to defeat and acquire better equipment and weapons in order to progress to harder monsters. The group had made quick work of the game, as many similar games of its genre where out for public consumption for console and computer. They had progressed through the game by having not only a unique group of players but one that consisted of a untested formation. 4 damage dealers and 1 tank player, this was thought to be bad for quick progression because no one knew how the fight was gonna turn out. Maybe you need more damage absorption or more healers, this nontraditional group stuck by the self imposed moto of "if you can't dodge it or take a hit and live from it than you shouldn't be playing." The opponent was a hulk 4 armed ape'esque looking machination, being what seemed to be fully mechanized and armored out, anyone would doubt that this was gonna be an easy fight. As the players neared the game recognized their proper playing gear and the Ape stood up, all 50 digital feet of it, fiercely staring at the very small group and gave what seemed to the players wearing helmets with sound in them, a deafening defiant roar. The players looked at each other with a gleam in their eyes not knowing if they would win or lose but for the fun of the game and effort of it they would try like hell to win! One female wielded a bow of gold inlaid cherry wood almost as tall as her started the fight by firing a glowing tipped arrow into the sky right at eye level of the ape only to explode into a brilliant yellow - white color that immediately blinded the ape making him real back in confusion! she continued to fire her arrows directly at the beast, small things to be certain but they stuck into the metal leaving small green drips where ever they hit. As the first arrow flashed in ran the one male and the other female. The male running with one hand dragging a sword behind him so massive you would wonder how he could lift it to do any damage at all, as he approached he swung his sword in front of him and began to spin, using the momentum and weight of the blade to start a tornado spin. closer onlookers noticing the light footed man seemed more at home dancing than swinging a sword of this size. He landed a solid hit on the ankle of the beast and pulled it out just as fast, digital blood and black oil poured out like water from the trunk of a foot that was the ape. He continued his dance swinging the ungainly sword over and over again hit after hit. The female was by far faster. Wielding two small slightly curved blades no more than 3 feet in length but gleamed bright each with their own color, one red and one green. Indicative of their properties they were fire and acid. She got so close to the beast and you would wonder how she was going to do anything at all but she tumbled around to the backside of the creature and first stabbing with the green blade, slowly pulling the blade across the calve opening metal to reveal both fleshly and mechanical insides. Then she proceeded to stab the red blade in quickly followed by flames errupting from the open wound. The beast finally shaking off the affects of blindness now screaming with rage and pain raised all four of its arms high in the air then slamming them onto the ground causing all but one player to seemingly quiver at the knees. That one player looking like a whole lot shinning armor with delicate crafted designs of yellow illuminated images of lightning bolts around each individual piece of armor. The shield, going from ground to neck of this man, had a single lightning bolt on its front. The other hand held a long handled hammer resembling that of a oversize railroad workers, the nature of it as dull in color as the ungainly sword but just as well crafted. He charged shield first into the now steadily slammed fists of the ape machine. Upon contact with the behemoths clenched rage the shield sparked brightly and lightning coursed through all four arms straight to the chest causing quivering to erupt all over. The ape could not and did not move for what seemed to be just enough time for the last player to act. He had been patiently waiting next to the archer while she continued to fire off green tipped arrow after arrow for this very moment. His clothes that were closer to pajamas than battle regalia radiated a hue of green from his sleeping cap down to his slippers. He began to murmur and mumble words that made no sense to anyone but himself, thick vines erupted from around his feet diving in and out of the ground like dolphins through water till they reach the behemoths arms. Shooting straight out of the ground, growing sharp barbs as they wrapped around forearms and fists cutting through armor as if it were paper. Hammer, ungainly sword, tiny needles of weapons, arrows, and vine all most assuredly making this raging beast seem like nothing more then a opening battle sequence to a game on the easiest of levels but all the onlookers who came by choice knew this was the newest creation of the game makers design and they were never as easy as these 5 made it seem. after what was a mere 5 minute battle of more movement on the players behalf than the beasts. It finally began to crumple and dissipate into digital bits floating into the nothingness. the 5 all smiling and joyous got back together to watch it disappear only to watch as a chest dropped from high in the air down to right in front of each one of them. Popping open with gold, silver and purple glow emanating from inside, the crowd cheered and applauded as the 5 stood valiantly shoulder to shoulder happy with the outcome.
