Shadamy One-Shot: Sick Days

Sick or not I still love you

Hey everyone this is my first attempt at a One-Shot so go easy on me anyway I hope you enjoy! I don't own STH.

Shadow was in the kitchen making his girlfriend breakfast which consisted of orange juice, strawberry muffins her personal favorite along with scrambled eggs he was just about ready to turn around and see Amy standing there since usually she was up around 8:30 in the morning but today she wasn't there.
So Shadow decided to wait for her to come down the stairs that way the two lovers could eat together so he did.

~A few minutes later~

'Ok this is weird I know Rose gets up a few minutes late, but this is quite out of the ordinary.' He thought to himself
The clock read 8:59 a minute till 9 so the only thing he could do was go check up on her.
Once Shadow got to their room he knocked on the door and waited for an answer but she didn't answer so he opened the door and went in.
What Shadow saw really caught his attention she was still fast asleep he didn't want to wake her so he quietly made his way over their bed where she was.
"Rose?" He said in a soft but gentle voice while moving her pink quills out of her face.
Amy's ears perked up at that voice she recognized it anywhere. In response the ebony male let out a low chuckle.

"Shadow? W-what time is it?" She said while her Emerald orbs looked into his Crimson rubies.
Shadow could sense that something wasn't right with her that usual spark in her eyes wasn't there.

"It's 9:34" he said while caressing her cheek while he did this he noticed that she was warm in an instant his crimson eyes were filled with concern.

"Rose? Why is your cheek warm?"

She wondered if she should tell him the truth she didn't want to lie to him so she settled on telling him the truth.

"The truth is I'm sick." She said while looking down at her hands.

"Rose why didn't you tell me?" Shadow said while he sat down on the bed next to her and grabbed her warm hand.

"I-I didn't want to be a bother-" before she could finish Shadow put his hand that wasn't holding her hand under her chin making her look at him.

"Don't ever say that again ok? You are not and never will be a bother because me being you being my girlfriend I don't mind taking care of you Rose do you understand?" He said while nuzzling her pink messy quills.

Amy couldn't help but blush by what he said and did. While she did this Shadow left but came in the room with a thermometer in his hand.
"Open." He said while sticking the thermometer under her tongue.

A few hours later and Shadow had discovered that Amy had a temperature of 99.6 not mention a sore throat and she was coughing a lot, so he went to the store to get her some cough medicine and some other things for her.

Once Shadow got home he saw Amy sleeping on the brown couch with a blanket over her. He didn't want to wake her so he quietly put Amy's medicine on the marble countertop while he did this he heard his name being called.
"Shadow? W-where were you?" She said with a bags under her eyes while coughing.

Shadow hated seeing her like this it tore at his heart. He made his way over to her with the medicine in the plastic cup in his right hand and sat down next to her.
Amy's eyes quickly widened at what she saw "Uh...what is that?"
"Don't worry Rose it's going to help you get better." He said while handing it to her
"You sure it will?" She replied with a bit of uneasiness
Shadow only nodded in response

Once Amy had taken her medicine she had fallen asleep and was cuddled up with her head resting on Shadows white patch of chest fur while she was purring.
Shadow couldn't help but smile he loved her he really did and he wasn't ever going to let her go not in a million years. He was about to get up but that caused his girlfriend to wrapped her arms around his waist which caused him to to chuckle.
"C'mon Rose I'll be right back I promise."
In response Amy let out a moan she wasn't about to do that she wanted him to stay with her Shadow knew he couldn't win this battle even though he was the Ultimate Life Form he did have one weakness and that was Amy Rose he loved her no matter how mean he acted whenever they were with their 'friends' even though he didn't think of that blue Faker as a friend he was Amy's friend/big brother figure to her. So he decided that something involved his Rose he'd be there for her.

Shadow looked at the kitchen clock which read 10:30 p.m. He looked down at Amy and carefully picked her up bridal style went up the stairs and once he made it to their room he slowly set her down put the covers over crawled in next to her wrapped his arms around her petite waist and went to sleep.

The next morning Shadow woke up to an empty bed. He quickly kicked the covers off of him and immediately ran down the stairs to see if she was there.

"Rose?" He said while scanning the room.
"What..." She replied back to him

Shadow quickly noticed that she sounded even worse then before. He then made his way over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist while he put his head in the crook of her neck. Amy couldn't help but blush at his gesture.
"How are you feeling?" He said while nuzzling her neck.
Amy blushed even harder"A little better." She replied while she returned the gesture.
"Hey Shadow?"
"Hmm?"
"Would you mind going to the store and pick me up something to help with my sore throat?"
Shadow quickly raised his head in order to look at her. "Rose...I already went to the-" he was about to continue but he saw that she was pouting in the cutest way possible.
Shadow let out a sigh and gave in to defeat "Ok, ok I'm going." He said with a small smile.

(2 hrs later)
Amy was wondering where her boyfriend was "Where is he!?! He should've been back by now!" She thought out loud to herself she needed to get her mind of things so she turned on the T.v.
Just as she did this Shadow just so happened to walk through the front door "Rose I'm home."
"What took you?" She said while coughing a little to hard
"Easy don't hurt yourself." He said while patting her back along with giving her head a quick peck.

~Later~

Once Shadow put away everything he was about to sit down but noticed that Amy wasn't in the living room.

His sensitive ears picked up on some voices coming from their bedroom he went up to see what it was. Shadow made his way to their room he saw that Amy was watching either 'Bridewars' or one of his movies he didn't know. As soon he as was about to speak she spoke first.

"Hey Shaddy?" She asked in her innocent voice.

Shadow knew that tone of voice and that she only used his 'pet' name whenever she really wanted something.

"Could you...I mean if you don't mind getting me something to drink and some soup?"
"Can't you do it? Don't get me wrong I love and all but c'mon Rose can't you do it yourself?"
"Please! If you really loved me you'd do this for me I'd do it for you if were sick." She said as she lowered her ears and she gave him the face that he couldn't say no to.

"Alright! I'll do it." He said with a small but sigh

After he got her some Gatorade and some Chicken noodle soup ready he was about to call her but she already came into the room.
"Thanks Shadow I really appreciate it." She said while she going to kiss his cheek but Shadow whipped his head around quickly and caught her in a lip lock which caught Amy off guard.

Once their little moment was over there was a short pause between them until Amy broke it, "You shouldn't of kissed me Shadow I am sick after all and I really don't want you getting sick because of me."

Shadow quickly pulled her into a hug and said "I don't care if your sick Rose because it doesn't matter if you're sick or not I still love you." He said while nuzzling her cheek along with letting out a deep purr in return Amy returned the gesture along with a hard blush on her cheeks.
