As soon as Christmas break started, Cassandra was instantly in a better mood. She was headed to the Order with the Weasleys, Hermione and Harry. Mrs. Weasley had picked them up from King's Cross Station, taking them one by one to the Order.
Mrs. Weasley had apparated Cassandra into the kitchen, where Remus and Sirius were.
"Hey guys!" Cassandra smiled.
She rushed to give both of them a hug.
"I heard you're going to Malfoy Mansion for Christmas Eve." Sirius said.
"Oh, yeah." Cassandra rubbed the back of her neck.
She hadn't told Harry, Ron or Hermione yet about it.
"I wouldn't be going if it wasn't safe." Cassandra said, noticing Remus's look of concern. "Snape is going to be there if anything bad happens. I will be back in one piece."
"Are you in love with someone Cassandra?" Sirius asked.
"No." Cassandra replied.
"You have that look on your face." Sirius smirked.
Fred and George all of a sudden appeared on either side of Cassandra.
"Hello, Cassie." Fred said. "We have a gift for you."
"Come up to our room, once you're done talking?" George asked.
"Yeah." Cassandra replied.
The twins walked up to their room. Remus motioned with his head to follow the twins. Cassandra bolted up to their room.
"Alright Cassie, are you ready?" George asked.
"Yes." Cassandra smiled.
Fred handed her a red bag. She opened up the gift and was immediately met with shock.
"A thong?" Cassandra breathed. "Seriously?"
"You should've seen the look on your face." George giggled.
"I got the look." Fred said, passing Cassandra a photograph.
"You suck!" Cassandra said. "When am I going to ever use this?"
"When you go over to Malfoy Manor on Christmas Eve." Fred replied. "I'm pretty sure someone there would appreciate it."
George winked.
Fred would be lying to himself if he said he wasn't the tiniest bit in love with Cassandra.
"You two are insufferable." Cassandra said, leaving the room in a hurry.

Cassandra was wearing the prettiest purple gown to the Malfoy Ball. She was in awe of the beauty of Malfoy Manor. Snape had picked her up from the Order and apparated the two of them to Malfoy Manor.
"Are you ready?" Snape asked as they were about to enter Malfoy Manor.
They had gotten there a little bit earlier so that Cassandra could spend time rehearsing the dance.
"Yes." Cassandra replied.
They knocked and Draco opened the door. He was awestruck at the sight of Cassandra. She was stunning.
"Welcome." Draco eventually managed to say. "Professor Snape, through the door on the left. Cassandra if you would follow me this way."
Cassandra followed Draco into the ballroom. She was in awe of the grandness.
"The kids do this every year." Draco said. "We create a dance to show off our talents. Blaise and Blair are always paired together since they're siblings. Usually, I sit out on the dance and just choreograph it. But this year is different, I have a partner. I don't like being partnered up with random people and you're not random."
Draco just kept babbling on and Cassandra watched him intently. She kept stealing glances at his lips, they looked so soft and warm.
"Cassandra?" Draco asked, pulling her out of whatever trance he put her in.
"Yeah?" Cassandra said.
"I asked if you would like to get started." Draco replied.
"Oh yes, my apologies." Cassandra said.
She grabbed his hand and they made their way to the middle of the ballroom. He placed his hand on her waist and used his free hand to grab her hand. She placed her hand on his shoulder. She avoided eye contact with him.
This was the closest she's been to him since that night in their dorm. She could feel her heart pounding as the two danced around the room. They twirled perfectly together and somehow she knew all of the steps.
"All right," Draco said. "The guests shall be arriving soon so we can take a break to freshen up. I will lead you to my room."
Draco took Cassandra's hand and led her up to his room.
"Oh my." Cassandra said when they entered his room. "Your room, it's beautiful."
Draco had a large king bed in the middle of the wall opposite the entrance. It had the most beautiful emerald green drapes on the bed frame. There was a chandelier hanging in the middle of the room. The room was lined with bookshelves, many titles Cassandra did not recognize.
"There's a door right there leading to my bathroom." Draco pointed. "I made sure to get some girly things so you could freshen up."
"Thank you." Cassandra curtsied.

Cassandra and Draco eventually made their way to the ballroom. When it was time for the group dance to happen, Cassandra could hear her heart beating. She felt like she was having a heart attack but she knew it was just nerves.
The music started and Cassandra went to sway when Draco said something to her.
"Cassandra, you can't keep looking at the floor." Draco said. "Look at me. We have to look like we somewhat like each other."
Cassandra met his eyes. She felt something in her stomach but had no clue what it might be. Draco twirled her and she felt alive. She felt happy and at peace. Cassandra used to do ballet when she was younger, following in Brooklyn Potter's footsteps.
The dance ended and Cassandra needed to take a breath. She walked outside of Malfoy Manor and took in a breath of fresh, clean air.
"Cassandra?" Draco asked.
She didn't even know he followed her.
"I'm sorry. I needed a moment to breathe." Cassandra said, wiping her anxious tears from her eyes.
He cupped her face in his hand, wiping away her tears.
"What's wrong?" Draco asked. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah." Cassandra replied. "Just a little anxious is all. I apologize."
"There's no need to apologize." Draco smiled. "I'll be back and get you a drink. Just wait for me here, okay?"
