A squeal echoed through the room as Taemin skipped into view, a grin spread across his face. The atmosphere only grew more tense at his presence. "Performance day!" He said excitedly before doing a few happy jumps.
When Taemin was happy it meant one of two things, either there was some type of performance that day, or he spent some...quality time with his boyfriend the night before.
Jungwoo was a mixture of nervous and exited. He couldn't tell which one of the two were making him so nauseous.
"Guys! Guys look what I made!" Taemin said excitedly as he put a colored wheel on the screen that had all of their names on it. "Now we don't have to go in the same order we always do!"
There were nervous murmurs all around him because everybody was so used to the alphabetical system they put to use every time they performed.
"Okay lets see who's going first!" Taemin yelled before clicking a button which caused the wheel to spin. Jungwoo wrapped his arms around himself as he watched the wheel that was now blurred into one color.
It landed on Chuu, who burst out in terrified giggles upon seeing her name. The boy next to her gently pat her shoulder while she continued to freak out.
Jungwoo turned around and gave her a small thumbs up, trying to reassure her in the tiniest bit that he could. She gave him a small smile before hurrying down the risers and into the front of the room.
Taemin already had all of their music because it was much easier for him to control it than the students. "You ready?" He asked quite softly, noticing how scared she looked.
Running a shaky hand through her hair, she nodded and choked out a small, "I'm ready."
✨✨✨
For the first hour, Jungwoo was relieved not to have been called, but now he just wanted to get it over with. There were only about ten students left, and it didn't seem like he was getting called anytime s—
"Jungwoo! It's your turn!" Taemin yelled, somehow still enthusiastic after watching so many people perform.
Taking a deep breath, he reminded himself that he had no reason to be nervous. A small smile formed on his face once he got to the front of the room. He loved performing and nothing else came close to the exuberant feeling of performing in a front of a full audience.
Chuu returned the thumbs up from where she was in the risers, giving the boy a giant smile. He returned the smile before telling Taemin he was ready for the music.
From the first beat, his body moved perfectly, it almost felt as if he wasn't in control and it was doing all the work for him. The crowd slowly left his mind as it became just him and the music.
He could feel the song running through his whole body, he wasn't just in a college classroom anymore, he was on a stage in front of thousands of people.
When the song came to an end, he slowly came back to reality, the applause now becoming audible. He quickly bowed, soaking in the praise he was receiving from his classmates.
"That was amazing," A boy said quietly as Jungwoo took his seat.
His eyebrows furrowed slightly when he realized he'd never seen this boy before. "Thank you," He said quietly, still trying to catch his breath.
"I'm Taeyong by the way, I don't think we've ever met." The boy said.
Just as Jungwoo was about to reply, the wheel landed on Taeyong's name. "Good luck," he squeaked as the shorter boy stood up.
To say Taeyong was amazing would be an understatement. The whole performance was utterly infatuating. He performed more of a street style, and the style fit him so well.
Jungwoo was quite confused how he'd never noticed such a talented dancer before. Maybe he just didn't pay attention as much as he thought he did.
"If Im amazing...then I don't know what you are. That was so...I literally couldn't look away," Jungwoo rambled when Taeyong took his seat again.
The boys cheeks turned a dark shade of red, "o—oh nobody's ever said that to me before."
A small giggle slipped past Jungwoo's lips, "Well I don't know why, you're such a good dancer."
✨✨✨
After showering and changing into more comfortable clothes, Jungwoo happily skipped across campus to go see his boyfriend.
When he got into Lucas's dormitory building, he practically ran down the hallway, not being able to contain his excitement anymore. He knocked on the door and waited as patiently as he could.
The second Lucas opened the door, he lunged at the boy, "I did so good!"
"You did so good!?" The younger boy repeated, a grin now plastered across his face.
Jungwoo nodded vigorously, "Even Taemin looked happy when I finished!"
"Oh my god, baby that's amazing!"
"B—Baby..." The elder mumbled, his cheeks slowly turning red.
"Sorry—I got excited," Lucas said sheepishly.
Shaking his head, Jungwoo was actually quite confused as to why Lucas was apologizing. He wasn't upset at what he called him...he was just a bit caught off guard. "No, It's cute I like it." He said, placing a hand on the side of Lucas's face.
A small happy giggle slipped out of the taller before he leaned down and gently pressed their lips together.
"Ew keep it pg!" Hendery yelled as he threw a pillow at his roommate.
Lucas turned and glared at the boy, "I don't want to hear it Hendery. At least I still have a boyfriend to keep it pg with."
