Chapter 27

Hayes Pov

"Dude I promise you that Amber is not going to want a skateboard" I laugh
"She told me herself that night she had a nightmare about you. It's one of her dreams so shut the fuck up and help me pick out one she'll like." Nash laughs.
"Alright fine, umm just get her that fall themed board. It's her favorite season." I say. My phone starts to ring and I see it's Ethan.
"Hey guys it's Ethan. I'm gonna go take this." I say to the boys then walk down a different isle.

"Hey dude what's up?" I answer the phone.
"Hayes hurry up and meet me at Lincoln Hospital!" Ethan says frantically.
"Why what happened?" I ask worried. After a few seconds I don't get an answer.
"Ethan! What the fuck happened?" I yell.
"Grayson hit her. He fucking hit her and she won't wake up. She's bleeding all over her face and she won't wake up." He says crying.
"What the fuck? Grayson hit Amber again?" I say angry.

"Just come meet me at the hospital please Hayes. Don't bring Grayson don't even tell him what hospital she's at, just get here fast." He says and hangs up.
What the actual fuck?! I run around trying to find the guys. I see them at the cash register paying for everything they bought. I run up to them and they look at me confused.

"Hayes what happened?" Shawn asked.
"We have to go to Lincoln Hospital now!"
"Why what happened Hayes?" Nash said
"It's Amber. Grayson hit her." I say angrily
"What?!" All the guys say at once.
"Guys let's go! We don't have time to waste here." I say running back to the car with the guys behind me. We all get in and I drive us. We all sit in silence with mixed feelings of pure anger and fear. After a while we arrive and we all run in.

"What room is Amber Stutts in?" I say
"Are you family?" The nurse asked
"We're all she's got." Shawn said.
"No one but family. You can go sit in the waiting room with the other gentlemen who brought her in." She sighs. We look and see Ethan staring at the ground with blood in his shirt. We all run to him.
"Ethan what's going on? How did this happen?" I ask.

"I...I don't know Hayes. Me and Grayson got into a fight because he said I wasn't good enough for her and he could make her happier. He said that since I...beat her that she'll never be happy with me. I told him to get out and I got Amber from his room. He pushed my hands away so I pushed him down. Next thing I know is he's swinging as hard as he can and he hits Amber. He hit her so hard that she fell out of my grip Hayes."
"I'm gonna kill him!" I yell.
"I'm done with him. He isn't going to talk to her or even look in her direction or mine. He's cut off. He's done." Ethan says shaking his head.

We all sit down and wait for about 3 hours. No one will tell us anything because we aren't family but we are. We are all one big family and it's all thanks to Amber. Everything good that's happened has either been because of her or just her as a person.

Ethan's Pov
After sitting for 4 hours I see the doctor that took her walk my way. I instantly stand up and rub my eyes.

"Ethan Dolan?" He says.
"Hi, yes that's me." I say shaking his hand.
"Well Ethan, Amber seems to have had a very hard day. Her nose is broken and she had a pretty deep cut on her cheekbone which we stitched up. Now she's awake and has a concussion and a major one at that but she is awake." He says.
"Oh thank god." I sigh in relief.
"But I'm afraid that's not all." He says slowly.
"What else is there?" I ask with a shaky voice.
"Well, when she fell from your arms and onto the floor it seems she hit it pretty hard. It seems that she's bruised her internal organs which could quickly worsen. She's going to be in a lot of pain and bruising will form. If she doesn't take things easy, she's at risk for rupture. It's vital she moves as little as possible." He says softly.

"A fall did all of that?" I cry.
"Im afraid so. Like I've said, it's vital she doesn't move much. Take things slow. Shes going to need around the clock assistance and care." He says patting my shoulder.
