"Becca! Wait up!"
I turned around quickly, my nerves on end. I'd began walking back and forth along a darkened street. I breathed a sigh of relief. It's just Carla. I ushered her into one of the near alleys on the road. She wore a black hoodie and black jeans, perfect for blending into the night.
"Do you have it?" I whispered frantically, I had to go soon if I were to leave.
"Yeah, it's all there." she said as she passed me a brown paper bag.
I opened it to see a perfect brick of money. I shoved it into the pocket of my coat and looked at Carla's brown face. I studied every feature, knowing it'd probably be the last time I'd see my best friend of 14 years. I hugged her, not allowing myself to relish in it before turning around and sprinting down the street, my tears whizzing past me.
