I sigh with relief, I will be working at the hospital, where I can change lives, where I can save lives. I step back to my correct place and wait for everyone else to finish. After the ceremony everyone goes home to sleep.

It's pretty late, about ten o'clock, when I get home. I have to wake up at four tomorrow. I sigh and jump into my bed. I don't have to switch apartments, at least. I pull the blankets over myself and fall asleep almost immediately.

My alarm goes off at four, and I get up and ready. Someone delivered a package to my door, it must be the uniform. I get dressed and ready, and head to the hospital. I step into the elevator and see four others, about my age, in the same uniform as me. They don't look too happy to be here. I smile at them, anyways.

When the doors open we all step out, and one of the girls walks over to me, "Hi," She says, "I'm Sanala, you working at the hospital, too?"

"Yeah, I am. My name's Ariella, you can call me Ella."

One of the boys walks over to us, "You guys excited?" He asks. Of course, no one would even risk working at the hospital unless, like me, they really, really wanted to.

I smile, "Yes, though more nervous." Everyone laughs. We all walk to the hospital together, and stop at the food rations for our breakfast.

When we get to the hospital we sit in the waiting room, ready to be ushered to where we'll be working. I open up my food pack, Kalumba leaves, my favorite. Kalumba leaves are one of the scientifically developed foods, it tastes like, well, Kalumba. It's really tart and the juices are thick and creamy.

I finish my Kalumba and keep waiting, I wait for about five minutes before they come to get us, It's almost five o'clock. One of the older employees says, "Welcome to the hospital. Come this way." We follow him and see a huge room, connecting many little rooms set apart with curtains. every single small room is occupied, every one has a sick, dying, or dead person in it. I can't bare it, I need to help them. I begin.
