I sit on the grassy field in the park, contemplating on my life—I mean death.
It’s just now hitting me. I’m dead.
I’m only 26 years old. I’ve barely had anytime to live my life.
The day is passing me by, but I’ll stay up through the night, wondering where Joey is. There is no chance in hell that I’ll close my eyes tonight. I thought I could survive. I would walk on fire to save my life but look at me.
My life is gone.
I want my life so bad. I’m doing everything I can. And then another tragedy comes along. I don’t think that I can sing my song.
I need to do something to get these thoughts out of my head.
I SHOULD WALK AROUND AND SEE WHAT RANDOM SHIT I FIND.
I stand up and walk around the giant park literally finding nothing in sight. Grass, grass, and more freaking grass. This is too much nature shit for my liking.
After about ten minutes of walking in completely random directions, I stumble upon this giant oak tree.
It seems very big and dangerous. I SHOULD CLIMB IT!
As I climb up the tree, the details of the unique piece of nature become clear. At the end of each branch is an item. Not like a fruit or something. It’s like a household item. The lowest branch on the tree has a camera dangling off of it. It looks just like the camera I had in 2012 a few years back.
I climb to the end of the branch and grab the camera. As soon as my fingers touch the smooth surface, an explosion of light takes over my vision and seizes my body.
“Hey!” Joey greets me as he enters my house.
“Hi! How are you?” I ask him as he gives me a hug.
“Good!”
“So I have a camera set up in the back to do a tag video or something.”
“Okay.”
“Oh and really quick.” I turn around and grab the sides of his face, gently pressing my lips onto his. After a second I pull away and pat his cheek with a smile before walking away like nothing happened.
“Okay? Wait. What the f*ck just happened?” he asks with a smile on his face.
“Did you get it, Lauren?” I ask my producer, standing in the corner with the camera.
“Yup. We’re all good.” She hands the camera back to me so I can film a real collab with Joey now. “I’m going to raid your fridge while you two are filming.” She flashes us a quick smile before walking into the kitchen for something random to eat. I walk into the living room where everything is set up with Joey following closely behind me.
“Are you ready to film?” I ask him.
I know I’m not. I thought this Dare The Dawson thing was just going to be some funny little joke to please my audience and to start the Shoey ship, but this is very serious. I felt something in that kiss. I don’t know what it was but it felt…good.
Shane, stop thinking like this. You’re not gay! You have Lisa anyways!
“Actually I was wondering if I could try something before we start filming.” He says.
“No problem. What is it?” I ask.
“This.” He grabs the sides of my face and slams his lips onto mine. I freeze in place as shock seizes my body but I soon relax and kiss him back as I realize what's going on. I move my lips in sync with his as the sparks fly.
“Joey…” I whisper, resting my forehead on his. Our lips are just centimeters apart. He smiles before puling me back in for another kiss.
That’s how the Shoey ship and Shoey relationship started.
Wow. I can’t believe I almost forgot about that. That was the day that the three best years of my life began. After that day, I stayed with Lisa for about another week before I realized that I wanted to be with Joey so I broke up with her but that’s another story for another time.
I wonder what other secrets this tree is hiding…
