Day 1:

Everyone says that the government just doesn't have their mind in the right place, but strangely, I actually think they have a reason for what they are doing. I only started to realize this once my dad died two loops ago. Yesterday it was the 200th day, which is the day the government bombs and shoots as many as they can. Then it starts over again at day 1. I'm surprised I even survived, as I was nearly in plain sight by the time it was 11:55 p.m.

Anyways, we used to be with the Riches until my died got shot to death. Riches are the people who actually can afford living in well-built bases to keep hem safe from the government. It's like a huge building made of concrete. Each loop (which is the 200 days), they keep on adding touches to it to make it stronger and better. All I have is my own house along with at least 50 others. My house is very small, but secretly we have a hole, or a tunnel thing, in our house behind these doors that we hid in. My dad got hit when he was trying to save my little brother, Jason, who has still been outside and clueless. He was only 4 at that time, but now 6 (and still kind of clueless). Thankfully, he saved my brother but, sadly, couldn't save himself.

I still have my mom and brother though. And my two friends Courtney and Andrew, that I love dearly. Courtney takes care of me mostly, because my mom is usually working in our hole and making it more hidden, yet bigger. Courtney is only 1 loop older than me, but still acts like she is my mom. And Andrew is just the dummy of the group, but he is really funny and such a sweet person. I wouldn't have any confidence if it weren't for him.

"Hey Kali, I am going to take a break. Do you mind getting some soup from the diner for me?" My mom says while coming out of the secretive room where the hole is.

"Yea sure. Be right back." I say and get my leather jacket and my converse. The diner wasn't too far from our house, but going outside meant talking to other people. Talking to other people leads to people asking questions. And I really don't feel like answering any questions.

"Whoa, sorry." I said as I bumped into a big, muscular body. I turned to face who I had ran into and suddenly couldn't stop staring. He looks like a god. Perfect cheek bones, bright green eyes, a nice jaw line, tan skin, and beautiful dark brown hair. I felt awkward because I barely fixed myself and made myself look presentable today, so I looked down quickly so he wouldn't notice my flaws.

"Don't be. It was my fault." He said with a huge grin. "My name is Drew Branson." He put his hand out to shake mine.

"H-h-um-*clears throat*. I am Kali Paschburg." I said awkwardly putting my hand out. This is not a good time to be awkward Kali. I thought to myself.

We shook hands for a long time, mainly because I didn't want to let go. His hands were soft and just perfect like his face.

"Um..so...do you want to get something eat?" He asked awkwardly.

"I have to get soup for my mom, maybe later?" I asked.

"Later, I don't have time. I have to get back to work on the building." He said. It shocked me though. I did not think he would be a Riches. They usually don't come down into the town, but I'm kinda glad he did.

"Oh, you are a Riches." I said kind of mumbling to myself. They are usually jerks. Rubbing in our faces about how amazing their survival skills are. Or basically anything.

"Yes, I am. Is that a bad thing?" He asked shocked.

"No, but usually you guys don't come down here." I said. There was an awkward silence for awhile until I said, "Well, I have to go. My mom might be waiting."

"Meet me back here tomorrow. We can have lunch or something." He said, more like a command, not a question. I nodded and walked toward to diner and ordered chicken noodle soup, which was my moms favorite.

I quickly ran home and gave my mom the soup.

"Why did it take you so long?" She asked In a angry voice.

"Sorry mom. I bet this person and he asked me if we could hang out tomorrow. Can i mommy. Please." I said begging and using my big puppy eyes.

"Ugh fine. But not too late." She said sternly. I thanked her excitedly and hugged her. I ran up into my small room got ready for bed.

Day 2:

I woke up and got myself a bagel quickly ate.

"What's up with you." Jason asked.

"None of your business. And stay out of my way until I get back home later today. I don't want you to embarrass me more than I am going to embarrass myself." I said, mumbling the last part to myself.

"I will try to stay out of your way." He said with a smirk.

I quickly ran upstairs, ignoring Jason's weirdness, and turned on the shower. I had to be ready in two hours and I had to at least try a little bit to look better than I did yesterday. I got out of the shower already feeling nervous.

So many thoughts were going threw my head. I brushed my wavy brown hair until it didn't have any noticeable tangles and put on a little bit of mascara. I am not one to wear make up, but this is a special occasion. I put on a bright blue shirt and some skinny jeans and my black-short-leathered boots. I felt good enough and hopefully I looked good enough.

I sprinkled a bit of my Good-Luck perfume and ran downstairs and grabbed my jacket. Mom was still working in the hole so I left a note saying I would be back soon and that I would bring home some food.

The town was almost empty until I spotted a tall man looking around. It was drew! I got so many butterflies in my stomache, I just wanted to run back home, but before I cute move, he spotted me. A huge grin came upon his face as he fast walked over to me.

I had no choice, but to wall over to him, too. He was wearing black jeans and a light blue/gray button down shirt and gray converse. Of course, it looked great on him and I could tell I was blushing had to hide my face.

"Hey, put your head up," he said in a nice-commandy way," I want to see your beautiful face." And at this, I smiled so big and he probably thought I was insane. He thinks I'm beautiful?

"Thank you so much." I said, even though my head was still down.

"Don't be shy." He said as he grabbed my chin and lifted up my head. I looked into his eyes and I got lost. He let go and we walked on.

"Where are we going?" I asked. He looked at me and smiled but didn't say anything, which make me 10x more confused. That was until we got to the end of town. He looked around to see if anyone was looking, which no one was bc there was no one around. He took my arm and ran toward this lake and sat me down on this huge rock.

"Why here?" I said, laughing. It was beautiful, but I was hoping to have food. He reached behind the Rock and grabbed a basket, which I hadn't noticed before.

"Well, where else would we have a picnic?" He said smiling back.

Yes, food! I thought to myself. I was really glad I hadn't said that allowed because it's something I would say.

He set up the area and placed out the food, which contained of fruit and ham sandwiches. It looked so good and if he made it then that is a +10. He put a sandwich and some fruit on a plate and then set it in front of me.

"Thank you." I said in an exciting and sweet voice. He fixed himself a plate too and started eating. Even though I love food, I couldn't find myself too. I've never eaten in front of a cute guy, it really any guy besides my dad and brother. He told me to eat and put a piece of fruit in my mouth. It was so sweet and so good that I couldn't stop eating them. Now, thankfully, I'm back to my old self.

A few hours past and we kept talking and talking and eating. Until he looked at his watch and it was 7. Shoot. My mom will freak. I told them I had to go and took some fruit and a sandwich for my mom. I was running now and I felt kind of rude for leaving him like that.

"You're late." My mom said said with a stern look.

"Sorry. I had to get food for you." I said hoping she would buy my excuse. Which by the look on her face she didn't.

"If I wasn't so tired, you would be so dead right now, but I need to go to bed." She smiled and ate her food. I cleaned up her mess (trying to stay on her good side) and she went to bed. I decided I should do the same since I had nothing to do.
