"This is it..." I thought to myself as I let the mouse hover over the new email I had just received about my latest international job application. "Either I got the job or I didn't..."
I closed my eyes as I clicked on it and tried taking a deep breath to calm my nerves as I opened my eyes, and my heart skipped a beat or two as I read:
"Dear Miss Lynn,
Congratulations! You have been selected as the new private and personal assistant to BigHit Entertainment's idol group BTS! We are so excited to add you to the BigHit family!
I am sure you have a few questions so I will go ahead and answer them for you here:-When do I leave?
-- We have attached your digital plane ticket to this email so that you don't have to worry about buying one. Your flight is scheduled for 10/20/2020 at 6:00AM. Please be punctual.-Where will I live once I arrive?
--BTS have requested that you live with them in their home, and they have provided you with your own fully furnished, personally decorated bedroom.-What is my salary?
--Since you are accustomed to American currency, I've converted it for you. You will earn $15,000 monthly.Once you have arrived in Seoul, your driver, Mr. Choi, will meet you at the welcome gate, and don't worry, he speaks perfect English. The boys and I will be waiting to welcome you home and to help you get settled without any worry. You and the boys will have two weeks off to get acquainted with each other, and working out how their daily schedules will go along with learning your daily responsibilities.
I have also taken the liberty of attaching an electronic check in the amount of $5,000 (which will not be taken out of any of your salaries) to assist you with any supplies you may require for moving to Seoul. Use it wisely, as you will not receive your first check until 11/10/2020. Although, the boys have personally offered to assist with any necessary monetary requirements.
I look forward to meeting you soon Miss Lynn,
Best regards,
Manager Sejin.Attachment.pdf

"I can finally get out of this place..." I whispered to my self.
I sat back up and opened the attachments, printing out my plane ticket and depositing the check in my bank account, but just before I closed my laptop I received another email from BigHit, or someone's personal email from BigHit..."Dear Miss Lynn,
I know you have probably already received your email letting you know that you got the job as our new assistant, but I wanted to personally congratulate you and welcome you to the family. I really hope that you will enjoy working with us, and no matter how hectic or stressful things get, just know that we always have each other to get through it. The boys and I have been working extra hard trying to get your room ready, and we are so excited to welcome you home.
I check this email regularly, so feel free to send me a message if you have any questions, or if you just want to talk.Yours Truly,
Kim Namjoon"
"Oh, Namjoon is so sweet! I didn't think I could adore him anymore than I already do..." I gushed and closed my laptop as I picked up my phone to call my parents and let them know the good news. Standing from my bed, I glanced around my bedroom before grabbing my cigarettes and walking out onto my back porch to calm my nerves let the realization sink in that I can finally leave and make a better life for myself."Do you need any money to buy your plane ticket with?" my mom asked.
"No, they've already bought my plane ticket and sent me $5,000 to help with moving expenses.""How much are you going to be getting paid?" My aunt asked.
"$15,000 a month." I answered happily."Are they providing you with a place to live?" My stepdad asked.
"The boys have given me my own room in their house." I answered, cautiously.
"Wait, what?" My mom asked, and I sighed.
"I'm going to be living in the same house as BTS. They gave me my own room in their house."
"Why didn't they just buy you an apartment? They have enough money for it." My aunt grumbled.
"Because it makes more sense that I live with them, since I am going to be in charge of their everyday work schedules and getting them up and ready for work everyday." I explained again.
"I don't like the idea of you living with seven men... but if that's what you want, then I will live with it." My mom said with a sigh.
"I know its going to be really scary for you guys because I'm moving half way across the world to live with and work for the biggest boy group in the world... but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'll be making more money than I've ever made in my life and I will be doing my dream job. There was no way I could say no to this." I explained, passionately. I know that they knew how much this job means to me, but I could tell that they were still going to worry.
After a long conversation with my family about this new job, I decided that I needed to call and quit my current job and then call my landlord and let him know that I will be moving out soon. Then, I called my dad and stepmom to let them know the great news, knowing that I was about to have the same conversation that I had with my mom, stepdad, and aunt.
When I realized that it was only lunch time, I decided that I would sort through all of my clothes and pack most of what I planned on taking with me, while I stuffed the rest in a trash bag to take to Goodwill. It was only after I realized I live mainly in leggings, sweatpants, tee-shirts, and pajamas, that I decided I should probably go shopping for some professional-looking clothes. So I got a shower, found something cute and comfy to wear to the mall, slapped on a little makeup before throwing the bags of clothes in my car and heading out."Absolutely nothing could ruin my mood right now." I thought to myself as I turned up the volume on my favorite BTS playlist.
~~~A/N: I know that this chapter is a little bit of a slow start but it only gets better from here!~~~
