"Rae," I whispered as I ran my hands through her black hair, pulling at her roots. She pressed her head against mine, rubbing her tears against my cheeks. She couldn't keep it together and it took my all to stay strong for her.
It was all my fault but she will always blame herself for what I did. We were both paying the consequences and at this point, it couldn't get any worse.
"I'll wait for you. Wherever we end up, together or not, I'll wait for you."
She knew it wasn't going to end well but I promised and so did she. Whatever happens to us, we will be there waiting for each other.
