Keep on pushing Through

Chapter 1

"Are we actually going to Yellowknife to see the Northern Lights?!"

"For the third time, yes!"

"Thank you so much! This is going to be the best birthday ever!"

" Come on now, the flight is tomorrow at 5:30am, you have to start packing."

 Lara rushed up the flight of stairs and ran to her bedroom. She quickly pulled out her bright pink phone and called her best friend. 

"Casey! I have good news. My family surprised me with a trip to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories to celebrate my birthday. Isn't that cool?"

"That sounds amazing! When are you guys leaving?"

"We're leaving tomorrow at 5:30am."

"Um...okay."

"Are you fine?"

"It's just that I wanted to celebrate your birthday with you. Like a best friend day or something."

"Well, actually my parents bought a extra ticket and they said I could invite anyone I want."

"Who are you going to choose?"

"Of course I am going to choose you. Who else would I choose?"

"OMG, thank you!"

"Sorry, can't talk anymore. I gotta pack for tomorrow. Bye!"

"Bye,"  

Lara quickly pulled out her rose coloured suitcase hidden behind her vanity. Then, she rapidly packed everything she needed for her trip.

"Toothbrush and toothpaste, check.  warm clothing, check. Money, check. Hair curler and hairbrush, check. Good, I have everything."

"Lara, are you done packing?

"Yes, mom." 

"It's already pretty late. I think you should go to sleep."

"But it's only 9:00pm."

" Well, you have to wake up at 3:00am tomorrow."

"Fine." 

Lara switched into her comfy pajamas and hopped into bed. Then, she pulled up her soft blanket and clapped. Suddenly the lights turned off and her room became pitch black.
