It was lunch time and Knight had barely finished any work all morning. He sat in the break room listening to his co-workers make plans for the weekend.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!" He began to hear the footsteps of the darkness marching out from the cave. He knew he must get ready for battle. He glanced over at his sword lying on the ground.

"Of course maybe I should just go walk for a bit in the cave to see if I can catch a glimpse of the darkness," he thought.

"Will the beast loom large this time or will he be smaller to where I can just let it wash over me?" Knight began to creep down the cave.

"What am I doing?" he thought,"has the first of the darkness's tentacles already started to wrap around me and lure me down?" He began to hear deep moans and growls below.

He then heard a shout, "KNIGHT!" "Are you wanting to come out or not man? Joy would love to catch up with Sarah." his coworker, Robert asked. "You zone out or something dude?" He knew going out with friends could do him wonders for getting his mind out of the dark place he had begun to sink into.

"No, I'm good man." Knight had no clue why he said that. He loved having dinner with Robert and his family.

A cold and wet tentacle started to wrap itself around his neck. Not so tight as to choke him, but just enough to really make him work to breath or say anything.

It began to gently pull him further down the cave.

He could fight it. It was just one tentacle at this point. "But why?" He stumbled further down into the darkness.
