I Promise

Sarah and I have been sitting up in our room all day, I have been helping her get ready for the date that Luke is taking her on tonight, I had a feeling that this would be big.

"I wonder what he's got planned, he's been so secretive recently," Sarah says

"I don't know, neither of them has told me anything,"

"How are things between you guys?"

"I think the talk with Pastor Evan helped him a lot, he seems to be back to his old self again, "

"I noticed that too,"

"We're going to spend time together while you and Luke go out, It'll be the first time we've been alone since the argument,"

"If he says or does anything to hurt you, Luke will hurt him first, and then I get seconds,"

I laugh, "I might beat him to it,"

"I wouldn't blame you if you did,"

"I'm nervous to be alone with him,"

"I know, just remember, I'm only a text away,"

"I don't want to ruin your night, you look beautiful and you guys are going to have an amazing night,"

"I have a feeling he's going to ask me to be his girlfriend tonight,"

"I hope so, he's taken long enough,"

"I know, he just wants it to be special and he's really trying to show me that he cares and wants to spend time with me,"

"He should be here any minute,"

As we walk downstairs, we hear the doorbell ring, I walk over and open the door, Zack and Luke were both standing on the front step,

"Hey Luke," Sarah says shyly

"Woah, you look amazing,"

"Lila helped me,"

"You look beautiful Sarah," Zack says

"Thanks, Zack,"

"Are you ready to go?" Luke asks

She nods, "I can't wait,"

"We'll see you guys later,"

"Have fun," Zack says

Zack walks inside and I shut the door. My heart was racing. I think he noticed that something was off because he gently hugged me

"Let's go down in the basement and talk," he says

"Yeah, let's get this over with,"

"We aren't breaking up if that's what you think,"

"I'm just nervous,"

We sit down on the couch, I turn to face him, I could tell that he was just as nervous about talking to me

"I sat down and I talked to Pastor Evan about everything that's been going on, I'm just scared of what others would think, if we did anything before we were married, That's why I was so dead set against it for the longest time, and that's why I acted the way I did toward everyone,"

"It shouldn't be about what they think, It's none of their business anyway if something happens between us,"

"I know, That's exactly what Pastor Evan said,"

"If and when it happens, we both need to be ready,"

"I know, That's why I want to wait until you're ready, If it happens before marriage, I'm okay with that,"

"Really?"

"Yeah, I mean I'm not saying right now, I think we should wait for a little while until things are better between us,"
