"How about we watch this one?" Bella sat on the couch holding a CD she just picked up from the millions of CD's laying by the corner of the TV speakers.
"Half past dead?" I ask.
"Yeah... I heard some kids at school talking about it the other day"
"You mean you haven't seen half past dead before?" Steph chipped in obviously surprised that Bella hasn't seen a movie that was at least eight years old.
Steph and Bella thought it was a good idea to come spend the next two days at my house, seeing as it was weekend and we didn't have school, and to be honest, i really need their company right now. I never thought about it before but staying home alone for two months is social suicide...i'd die!!.
As usual Steph and Bella are at their constant bickering again, sometimes i feel like they should be in kindergarten cause obviously i was the only mature one around here.
"Can you both stop" i said between chuckles and they both kept their voices down.
" You know what?" I continue. "Let's watch kissing booth 2. I got the CD today so it'll be fun"
"Yeah ... you're so right. A long night with Jacob Elordi staring at me for the next two hours won't hurt" Bella said dreamily.
"I still think Joel Courtney's cuter, have you seen those eyes?" Said Steph. " They are to die for"
"Are not" Bella protested
"Are to"
"Are not"
"Are to"
"Okay that's enough yelling for one night" I frowned "Let's just watch the movie guys" I walk over to the DVD player and inserted the DVD. A minute later, the movie started and we sat on the floor beside each other, pop corn in hand, half way into the movie and Steph was still laughing at almost every part where Jacob Elordi who plays Noah flynn in the movie talks or just makes a simple gesture, even if what he says doesn't make any sense, she still finds humor in them and laughs like a crazy person.
"Did you guys hear that?" I asked and Bella paused the movie.
"Hear what?" Steph asked
"I just heard something like a thud, you guys didn't hear it?" A worried expression on my face.
" You mean you made me stop the movie because you heard a 'thud' ?" Bella said in between chuckles.
" C'mon Ava it's probably nothing" Steph pats my back.
" Yes Ava its nothing...i mean what could possibly happen?" Bella shrugged but this would be the part where i say 'you spoke too soon'.
"Uhh..Ava, why are there cracks gradually forming on the ceiling?" Steph asked with her eyes fixed on the ceiling and i abruptly look up wide eyed.
"Guys?" I mumble. "Run!" We all started running toward the door to try and get out in time as the house starts to fall apart starting with sand falling from the ceiling and eventually, the walls started to come off too making it difficult to see where we were going
"Over here!" Steph called out,Bella and I ran toward where she was. We finally made our way out and neighbors started to gather around.
For another ten minutes we continue to stare at the ruin i once called my home, the roof has completely fallen leaving no shelter for the upstairs bedroom and crushing all the furniture beneath it, each and every downstairs window had a crack due to the expelling pressure of the sudden collapse, it was very obvious that it wasn't 'inhabitable' anymore.
