Chapter 6: go to sleep

Tords POV

"Tom" The small cervitaur said.
I smiled. He was really cute- even though he is a brat..
"Are you tired?" I asked him.
He just glared at me and huffed.
"no." Tom replied. He obviously was and I wouldn't blame him. He had a rough day.
" You should sleep." I tilted my head as I looked at him.
I realized that he wasn't a Centaur and that he was actually a cervitaur, part deer instead of part horse.

He stomps his front hoof again as he looks at me.
"I'm not tired." He said coldly again.
I rolled my eyes as I lost my smile. I'm tired as well but I can't go to bed before him.

"I didn't kill you and I set up a crate and made it as comfortable as I could for you. Now go to sleep, you ungrateful brat." He glared harder at me.

"Well you hadn't of had to do that if you didn't fucking kidnap me you stupid commie." Tom snapped.

I glared back as I clenched my fist. "That's it." I said under my breath before walking to him and grabbing him by the collar. He may be a cervitaur but he's somehow still shorter than me. I pulled him in front of the crate and shoved him down. "Get in." I said coldly

He glared up at me but there was a hint of fear in his eyes.

"Didn't you hear me?" I said.

"Get. In." He scoffed but slowly went in. I could tell he didn't want me to see that he was scared on the inside.

Once he was in I quickly shut the door and locked it.

"Now sleep. I've had a long day, so I'm going to sleep too." I told him as I stood up fully.

He didn't say anything. He just curled his legs under him and leaned against the crate. He was tired and knew he'd been beat so I decided it would be better to leave him alone.

"Night night, deer" I simply said as I walked away from the crate. I walk to my room without another word. I was so tired that I didn't care if I fell asleep in my clothes. I just took off my belt and flopped onto my bed. I signed before closing my eyes and slowly drifting away into sleep.

Toms POV

He's scary..

I don't think I'll be able to sleep well if at all.. The heads of all the different animals he's killed Mountain on the walls, seem to stare at me. I looked up and there were strings of lights on the trait that I was in. They seem to be glowing a very light green. So it didn't bother me much. I was laying on soft blankets, it reminded me of moss but it didn't feel the same. The crate was wide but it wasn't too tall. My antlers were small, but they were only a little ways from touching the top of the crate. I could hear the sound of rain starting to hit the windows.

I sighed.

I don't know how long I'll be here but I know that I have to escape. I touched the thing around my neck gently with my smooth hands. I didn't know what it was but for some weird reason it felt comforting- almost. I don't know why.

I kept thinking of all the creatures in the forest I used to live in.

They needed me.. most of them have never seen Hunter and that's due to me. I distract the hunter while they run and hide.

My ankle hurt still, from that's fall I had in the canyons. I could walk on it but it still hurt when I thought about it. I sniffed the air. It smelled kind of musty but also the smell of cigars and gunpowder. It wasn't too Pleasant to say the least. I could hear the crackle of a small fire but I couldn't see where it was.

It was about to turn autumn. I needed to get back to the forest. There are many things that I needed to do to prepare for the winter but now that I think about it.. I may not even be alive for winter. I don't know if he's going to kill me and I sure don't want to be a pet either.

I'm not like other servitors. Other than my eyes, I'm smaller than most. Usually centaurs are 7 ft tall and servitaurs are about 6 feet tall. I'm below that. Maybe 5'10. That means that the store dude has to be taller than 6ft.

Even though I'm exhausted it took a while for me to fall asleep. I don't think tomorrow will be any better. Maybe even worse. I'm hungry and thirsty and obviously not happy. I slowly closed my eyes and side again.

I let myself drown away in the sounds of the rain as I fell asleep..
