Chapter 11

I tried to remove the man's hand but when I couldn't, I quickly punched whoever was behind me. And it hit him straight on his nose. It cracked and blood started flowing. Bingo!

I turned over and saw that the same thing was happening with Dana. I quickly sat up and pushed the man who was holding her off her.

"Go. Take Lex and run." I yelled to her. These men could be dangerous.

"No I will stay." she hesitated but Lexi started crying in her arms and she had no option but to leave for the poor child's sake.

I picked up the baseball bat lying on the ground and started knocking the suited men out by hitting them on their heads. I had a deja vu, remembering the night in the diner. Then I realised that they were Colton's men. They had the same piercing I had noticed then.

What grudge did the Italian mafia hold against Kai?

I looked around and saw Leo biting their arms for self defence. So this is what they taught in mafia training.

Then, the bodyguards arrived. Finally. What were they doing all this time? Useless people. Thankfully, one of them took me and Leo back to our car where Dana and Lex were.

I let out a sigh of relief when we reached the mansion. This was getting so much to bear. I wanted to get back to my plain old life. Because of their business or whatsoever, I was in danger all the time. Even Kai must be thinking of me as a burden. And even if he didn't, he will now that I have been attacked for the second time.

I just wanted to leave and have my old life back. This was getting toxic for me. Maybe start a business with my degree.

I entered inside with my heart beating a lot faster than usual.

As expected, Kai was pissed off.

"And that is why I was saying no." he spat as soon as he saw me.

" I know." I said with an edge to my voice. I so did not want to have this conversation right now. This is how you get rewarded when you try to do something nice.

I walked straight into my so called room.

I was going to get out of here no matter what. And I had the perfect plan. There was some local party tomorrow and it was in a bar. It was for Kai's men only. I just had to sneak out when everyone was drunk. Easy peasy.

I put on a black dress that reached a little above my mid thigh. The black high heels and the short dress made my legs look really hot. They were just enough high for me to be able to run in them. Just in case.

Today, at the party I was going to make my grand escape. The plan was that, I would just steal some drunk man's phone, which was not a big deal for me when I pretended to seduce them and then, book a cab from their phone and run away somewhere far far away from this place.

I entered the bar. The place smelled of alcohol and sweat. The room was filled with hundreds of men. They all looked alike in their same suits and haircut. Except now, they all looked wasted. Their suits all wrinkled and all of them drunk. They were trying to dance like crazy. But it actually looked funny.

I looked around. Kai and Enzo were nowhere to be seen. Better for me.

I walked to the bar making sure I add an extra wiggle to my hips. That was for part one of my plan. As if on que, one drunk ass came towards me.

He put his hand around me. It felt so gross. I had to hold back a gag. It felt nice when Kai did that. I usually was a no strings attached person but ever since I met Kai, that had changed. Wait, why am I even thinking about Kai? I quickly removed his hand and decided to be the dominant one.

I moved closer towards him and ran my hand over his pockets searching for his phone only to find none. Ugh. This one was not useful so I walked away despite his protests.

I sat down at the bar and ordered a non-alcoholic drink. I didn't want to get drunk. I finished the drink and stood up.

Another guy came to me right away.

He stood behind me and started grinding against my ass. I turned around and put a hand on his chest with a smirk. You have to do this if you want to escape, I told myself. I checked his shirt pocket and then I slowly made my way to his rear. I put my hand in his pocket, grabbing his phone.

"Want to have some fun?" he asked, his hands on my ass.

"Not today." I smiled and walked away.

I opened his phone and booked a cab. It would arrive in 8 minutes. I hope this works. It had went smoothly till now.

I waited rather impatiently in the restroom pacing up and down. I finally let a sigh of relief as the cab arrived. From now on, the farther I went from here, the safer I was.

I spotted the cab parked near the entrance and ran over to it. I opened the door and sat inside.

"Going anywhere, love?" a very familiar voice boomed from behind me just as I was about to close the door. This is not at all, how I had pictured this in my head.

And then, before I could realise anything, I was being dragged and thrown inside another car and the cab driver had a bullet ridden through his head by Kai. For a minute, I felt pity for the driver but seeing the look on Kai's face when he turned around, it was me who was to be pitied.

Fuck. I was in so much danger.
