"Well, yes", he said clearing his throat. "But I guess you may have a boyfriend already ?"
"Actually, I don't", she said, with a frown.
"Great !" He said quickly. "I mean, great for me..."
She laughed and he felt the sudden tense in his back releasing.
"I'll be glad to have tea with you", she said with a smile. "I'm not available tomorrow but maybe, on wednesday ?"
"Wednesday is fine for me", he said. "How can I contact you ?"
She opened her small purse and put out a paper and a pen. She wrote down her number and held it out to Henry. As the music finished, she initiated a move to stop the dance, and Henry followed her on the side of the dancing stage.
"I should go now", she said, "thank you for this lovely time."
"Please allow me to drive you home", he said.
"I'll get a taxi, you have done enough for me today", she replied with a polite smile.
He saw her walking to his mother, probably thanking her for the invitation and also saying goodbye. As she headed to the exit, she turned and smiled at Henry. He smiled back and waved a hand at her.
She disappeared behind the entrance and Henry put his hand in his pockets, a feeling of satisfaction running through his brain.
He was very cautious with women. Due to his fame, and because he had several bad experiences, he was always taking a lot of time before inviting someone. But, he didn't know why, this time he was so hastened to invite her, wheareas he barely knew her.
At home, Henry was rubbing his fingers to Kal's fur, trying to decide if he should send her a text or not. He didn't want to show himself too pushy.
Time flew by so fast, that when he thought of Alya again, it was already tuesday afternoon, and he was supposed to invite her somewhere tomorrow. He decided he should text her now.
Hello Alya, it's Henry. I hope you are doing well. Sorry I didn't call you before, I was quite taken. Are you still up for our tea tomorrow ? What about 4 PM ?
He lyied on the couch, a bit nervous, when a slight bip ring. He looked down at his phone, there was a new text.
Hello Henry, good to hear from you. 4 PM is fine, I know a nice place in South Kensington. Let's meet over there.
Well, that changed from usual girl he texted, Alya was quite proactive. He liked it.
On Wednesday, Alya was a bit nervous about having a date with a guy she just saw once. Knowing barely nothing about him except his first name. She decided to wear a blue summer dress, nothing too formal but enough feminine and elegant for a date.
When she arrived at the South Kesington Station, she started to look out for Henry. She finally saw someone from behind that could match his figure, but he was wearing a cap and sunglasses. She headed to him.
"Are you on a secret mission ?" she asked whispering to his ears.
He turned back to her and smiled. He took off his glasses for a second, to make eye-contact.
"Hello Alya, let me say you are very pretty with this dress" he replied, slidding his eyes on her, from the bottom to the top.
She blushed and he pulled his glasses back on.
"So where is this nice place you told me about?" he asked.
"Just over there" she answered while aiming at a direction with her finger.
As they walk down the street, Alya notice he was dressed quite casually, wearing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. He looked even more muscular, and it remembered her how it felt in his arms when they were dancing.
"Are you planning on letting me know more about you today ?" he asked with a mischievous smile.
She laughed.
"Sure, but I'd like to get to know you better as well" she replied. "How about your hobbies ?"
"Well, I'd like to do sports, running, hiking... I have a dog, Kal, he's a true friend to me. I must admit that I'm also a huge video game player."
"You make it sound like a bad thing" she said with a smile.
"Usually, ladies don't like it that much" he replied, "what about you ?"
"Currently, I'm in law school. I'm in London to take care of my father, he's living here and he's quite sick so I help him with the cooking, the house you know... Regarding what I like, I like dancing, spending time outside and I must admit I read a lot, especially romantic novel..." she said with a grin.
"You make it sound like a bad thing" he said, stealing her words.
She gave him a knowing smile.
"Usually, gentlement don't like it that much" she replied.
She showed him the front window of a small café. "It's here"
They entered and sat. She didn't look at the board while Henry was rewieving it quickly. He looked around and took off his glasses.
"May I be honest with you Henry ?" she asked while looking at him deeply.
"Please do"
"You act like someone wanted by the police... and I have to admit that the idea that you were some sort of drug dealer slipped through my mind for a second" she said with a laugh, "but I don't think so, are you kind of famous or something like that ?"
Now he felt embarassed again. He tought he has been discreet. He even planned several explanations, like he had very sensitive eyes to explain why he was wearing sunglasses. He sighed.
"I might" he said finally with a doubtful voice.
"Might ?"
"Alright, may", he agreed.
She laughted of his embarassement, then tried to make a serious face again.
"Would you feel better if I told you I don't care at all ?" she asked.
