Prologue
The truth. A simple, yet very complex term. It seems as though many people are brought up to know what it is, but never live up to it. It seems as though lies are bad, but the truth is too. Telling a lie makes you untrustworthy and can easily put you in a bad situation.
For example, the boy who cried wolf. He was trusted to watch out for wolves. He had repeatedly lied saying that a wolf was there. People had stopped believing him. So when wolves had actually came, nobody believed him. He was eaten and never missed. Well, just like Friedrich Nietzsche had said, "I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you.”
Now, the truth is different. We should all know what the truth is. It's the quality of being true, genuine, actual, or factual. Everybody tells you to tell the truth because "The truth will set you free", but that's not true. The truth never set me free. It has ruined my life. It has imprisioned me and never set me free. I lost everything because of the truth, and I wonder "What if I lied? Would it make any difference?"
I probably wouldn't of lost everything if I did lie for the one time it actually counted. I have always been told that the truth will set you free, but that's not all of it. If someone did tell me all of it, I would've done things differently. But those are all if's. It already happened, it's over. All you can do is move on because as they say,
"The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off."
