Author's Note: What's up guys? So this is my first official story on Watt. I posted this story on another site before but I though I'd try it out here:) it's mainly an adult romance story that's (hopefully) not too cliched, and I've got the plot all figured out. I'm keeping it in my head, since that's where it all started. I'd love some comments and feedback and critiques. Have fun!

August, 1994
The little girl chewed on one of her pigtails as she surveyed the park. There were so many things to do, and she had only had an hour to do them. Of course, she could always come back tomorrow, but she always liked to live each day to its maximum lately since she was going to enter her first year of kindergarten soon.
The see-saw was out of question, of course, unless she could muster up some courage to ask one of the other kids to play. She was too old for the sandbox, even though she'd never admit she still had the urge to make a sandcastle (plus, she was wearing the new overalls that her mom gave her, so getting dirty would be a huge no-no).There was the monkey bars, something she finally mastered after years of practice, but her hands were starting to callous from doing it so often. Her eyes finally landed on the swing set, a favourite attraction of hers since recently. She had finally learnt how to swing on it, feeling like she had learnt how to take off on a rocket ship. Normally her older brother pushed her, but she decided it was finally time to do it herself. After a couple weeks of studying the older kids on the swing, she finally got the gist of it: jump up onto the seat, push off from the ground, and then keep swinging with your legs straight out in front, then tucked back. The little girl inhaled deeply, gathering all of her courage in her throat and began.
At first, she had a bumpy start, but then she got the hang of it. After a dozen pumps from her legs, she was soaring high, higher than she'd ever been before. It was such an exhilarating feeling! At the highest peak, she could see over the tall cedar trees that ruled the area, a crown of green. The little girl leaned back, carefully keeping her balance, and her world turned upside down. She was having the time of her life, when she noticed her turquoise Little Mermaid watch and realized her time was up. Her mom said to be home for dinner; they were having grilled cheese sandwiches and fresh fruit, her two favourite things.
Just as she was about to get off the swing, she realized something: she did not know how to get off.

The coast was finally clear. The boy had been squatting behind some bushes for a good ten minutes, long enough to make his legs cramp up. As the park finally cleared up, he stood up, brushed some dirt off of his red Converse hi-tops and sauntered stealthily into the playground area.
Although he had lived in the area for his whole life (no matter how short that life was), he had just come upon this park a month before. He had seen the lush green area around it, full of green trees, the same green as his eyes, but he had always skimmed this playground. Since his very first stumble into this playground, he had been coming here daily around six in the evening, a time hardly anyone was at the park. People were usually at home eating supper, or coming home from work. Either way, it helped him out a lot.
He had been scared that one of his friends would see him at the park, thinking he'd be called names since he was the only nine year-old who still played in the sandbox area. The boy couldn't help it: sand was so... cool! Of course, he could always walk a few blocks and go to the beach, but the soft sand there wasn't good enough to build forts that he'd battle dragons behind or make his special sand pies in. The sandbox here had the perfect sand: dark and moist, which were two crucial things he needed to perfect his pies. He was sad, because this would be the last of his pies in this playground: his father found a new job up north somewhere, and they decided to relocate. In fact, they were moving that same day, so it was his last time in this beautiful park.
