A/N: I AM BACK!!!!!!
Writing this chapter was so exciting bruhhhh. This is finally where things are getting started. And November is definitely getting me into the writing mood.
Hope you enjoy!
"You've got to be kidding me"
My spiteful words captured Neville's attention from beside me, as he looked towards the paper I was gripping in my hands.
"Bloody hell."
On the front page of the wizarding community's beloved Daily Prophet, was a massive picture of me with none other than Draco Malfoy, his slimy little hands gripping the edge of the library table as he leaned over me.
Out of context, we looked like two people getting rather- comfortable, our facial expressions hidden. In context, I absolutely hated the asshole's guts. Either way, I was humiliated, all due to the name scribbled at the top of the page: Rita Skeeter.
"Lainie, are you dating Malfoy?" Seamus spat from down the great hall table, words muffled from the food still in his mouth.
"No I'm not dating- I don't even know how she got- I'm going to kill her."
I rose from my seat quickly, rolling the newspaper in my hand as I marched out of the great hall. I doubt I'd be able to find the bastard woman on my own, but hopefully Professor Mcgonnogal would be able to help me. I knew she had her own share of annoyances against Skeeter, after everything she'd been saying against the school's "controversial leadership" in the prophet.
I felt my face burn red as my emotions built up, not wavering when I finally reached her office.
"Proffesor I-"
Standing in front of me, almost like a reflection, was Draco Malfoy holding the same paper I had in my hand. Judging by the repulsed look on his face, he shared my feelings on the matter. Professor Snape stood beside him, a neutral but slightly amused expression hanging on his face.
Malfoy looked at me once, anger glistening in his eyes before turning back towards the two teachers.
"You've got to do something about this- this woman! If my father gets wind of this-"
"The prophet has been out for hours already, Mister Malfoy, there is no doubt of my inability to repeal it." Mcgonnagal said calmly.
"That's ridiculo-"
"Then at the very least you could get rid of her, right? Did you read the rest of the article, the bullshit she wrote about Harry, too?"
"Language, Miss Nott." Snape entered the conversation. My cheeks blushed again when I'd realized what I said, but I was also a little too upset to care.
"Potter's exactly the fool he was written up to be." Malfoy scoffed.
I shot him a heated glare, "Is now really the time to be talking, idiot? I think there are slightly more important matters to address."
McGonagall shook her head, "I'm afraid there's nothing I can do, and you two continuing this elementary-esque fued you've got going on isn't helping. I'm sure it'll blow over in a matter of hours but, for now, I have work to do."

As much as I loved my head of house, Mcgonagall was seriously getting on my nerves.
