It had been a few months since the school festival, and things between Jungwon and Jiwon had only grown stronger. The warmth of their quiet moments together, the softness of their shared laughter, and the deep, unspoken understanding they had built between them all made their relationship feel like something solid, something built to last.

Jiwon was sitting in the school courtyard one afternoon, sketching a new idea in her notebook. The sky was bright blue, the air crisp, and the sounds of students chatting and laughing surrounded her, but it was all just background noise to her quiet concentration.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket, pulling her attention away from her drawing. She smiled when she saw the familiar name on the screen.

Jungwon:
Hey, I was thinking about you. I have a surprise for you after school. Are you free?

Jiwon couldn’t help but smile as she typed out her reply.

Jiwon:
A surprise? You know I can’t resist those. I’ll meet you after school!

After sending the message, she tucked the phone back in her bag and resumed sketching, her mind still lingering on the thought of Jungwon. He had always managed to make even the smallest moments feel special. He would show up with coffee in hand on a rainy day, leave her small notes in her locker, or surprise her with random, heartfelt gestures that left her feeling adored.

As she finished up her sketch, she heard familiar footsteps approaching. Looking up, she saw Jungwon walking toward her, his usual bright smile lighting up his face. He was holding a small bouquet of flowers, his eyes twinkling with excitement.

“Jiwon,” he greeted, his voice warm as always.

Jiwon blinked in surprise, feeling her heart skip a beat. “What’s all this for?” she asked, motioning to the flowers.

“I just wanted to remind you how much you mean to me,” Jungwon said softly, handing her the bouquet. “It’s been a while since the festival, but I still feel like I’m on cloud nine whenever I’m with you.”

Jiwon took the flowers, her eyes softening. “Jungwon…”

He reached for her hand, squeezing it gently. “I know we’ve had our share of ups and downs, but every moment with you has been worth it. You’ve made everything feel like it matters more than it did before.”

Jiwon’s heart swelled, and she didn’t have the words to express how much she felt in that moment. Instead, she simply leaned in and kissed him softly, her lips lingering against his. It was a kiss filled with all the emotions they’d shared—gratitude, joy, and the deep, comforting knowledge that they were exactly where they needed to be.

Pulling back, Jiwon smiled up at him, her eyes shining. “You’ve made me feel the same way,” she whispered. “I don’t think I could imagine life without you now.”

Jungwon smiled, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. “Good. Because I’m not going anywhere.”

They shared a quiet moment, simply standing together, their hands intertwined. The future felt bright, full of possibilities, and neither of them had any doubt that they would face it side by side.

3 Years Later.

A year had passed since that unforgettable festival night, and Jungwon and Jiwon had continued to grow closer with each passing day. They were still the same as they had been—playful, supportive, and always there for each other—but there was a new depth to their connection now.

Jiwon was in her second year of university, still pursuing her dream of becoming an artist, while Jungwon had started taking more serious steps toward his own future, with his music gaining attention from both his school and local clubs.

One chilly afternoon, as they sat together in their favorite café, Jungwon slipped a small box across the table to her. It was simple, elegant—just like him.

Jiwon looked at it, surprised. “What’s this?” she asked, her heart beating a little faster.

Jungwon’s expression softened as he met her gaze. “I’ve been thinking a lot about us. About how lucky I am to have you in my life. I know we’re still young, but I want you to know that I’m in this for the long haul, Jiwon.”

Jiwon’s eyes widened as she slowly opened the box to reveal a delicate silver necklace with a small, heart-shaped pendant.

“I can’t promise that life will always be perfect,” Jungwon continued, “but I promise that I’ll always be by your side. No matter what.”

Tears stung Jiwon’s eyes as she looked up at him, her heart swelling with love. “Jungwon…”

“Will you wear this for me?” he asked, his voice gentle. “So that no matter where we go, you’ll always know I’m thinking of you.”

Jiwon couldn’t stop the smile that spread across her face. She picked up the necklace, her fingers trembling slightly as she fastened it around her neck.

“Of course,” she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. “Always.”

Jungwon reached across the table, gently cupping her face in his hands. “I love you, Jiwon.”

And with that, he kissed her, his lips soft and sure, like a promise that had been made long before they had ever spoken the words aloud.

As they pulled away, Jiwon rested her forehead against his, the world outside of the café seeming to fade away as they simply existed in that moment, together.

The future was still unknown, filled with challenges and uncertainty, but in each other, they had found something they would fight for—something that would last.

And that was enough.

The End.
