Slowly I came into consciousness, a headache throbbing; causing everything to hurt. I tried to sit up and it was a very bad idea as I cried out in pain. My ribs felt as though they were on fire as I felt bones grind together, most likely from being broken.
"Stupid! Stay down." I heard a male voice say. I was on the verge of panic seeing as I didn't know the voice of who spoke, but tried to stay calm.
If he wanted to kill me I would be dead and not be waking up. I thought to myself.
I laid down once again and a slim figure came into my view. He was about my height, maybe the slightest bit shorter, had bleached white hair with the tips dyed a blue/black. He wore a long white coat, like a doctor's, and glasses adorned his intelligent amber eyes.
I eyed him for a bit as he fiddled with some things here and there. I looked around to see myself lying on a medical table. I was half naked and barefoot, my shirt gone AWOL and no where in sight. The room was spacious but cluttered, and organized, like organized chaos.
There were medical supplies, beakers, bunsen burners and a lot of other things of the like. It seemed to be a lab slash medical office.
"Where am I?" I asked, my voice raspy from disuse. The man looked back at me- he looked young not older than 26- sighed, and walked over.
"You are in my care for the time being. Your shoulder was blown to pieces, if it were anyone but me you would have never been able to use your arm ever again. But lucky for you it will be as if nothing ever happened, not even the slightest bit of discomfort."
I looked down at my shoulder to see it bandaged and I could feel the stitches in my skin.
"Your ribs were also in very bad condition. 7 of them were broken and one was almost puncturing your lung. I moved them back into place and they should heal cleanly, IF you don't move around." he emphasized as I was turning on my side and wiggling around.
"Dammit, 7? Plus my shoulder? I'm dead meat." I groaned to myself.
"You sure are, your mom is on the verge of either killing you or a panic attack." A very familiar and comforting voice rang out. I leaned my head back on the table to see Gale standing in the doorway, upside down in my vision.
"Y-you told my mom?" I asked nervously, hoping I still had a chance to lie about the situation.
"I had to. You were out for about 4 days. Don't worry though I told her it was a mugging and that you got the guys pretty good. The police found the guys you beat the shit out of." He informed me.
I groaned again and really just wanted the ground to swallow me whole, because THAT whould have been better than what mom is going to do now. He moved closer to the table and leaned against the metal top.
"How you feeling?" He asked and I gave him a very pointed look.
"I figured as much. Hey Nix give him something for the pain." He directed his attention to the male.
"If I give him too much he'll overdose. Right now he has as many painkillers as he can get, and the strongest too, any more and he'll be in danger." 'Nix' told him.
"Perdon, but who are you?" I asked him.
"Nixtopher Yamatsu. Scientist and medical surgeon." He replied curtly as he checked on a beaker full of a purplish green liquid.
"I've known Nix for a while now. He's a good friend and I knew he was the best to take care of you." Gale assured me.
"Another question. Why the hell am I here and not in a hospital?" I asked suspicious.
