The Only Chapter

She almost stabbed you, when you first met her.

The thought makes you softly laugh, as you turn to your side, gazing upon your lover as she peacefully sleeps beside you.

Vaggie. So protective of her friend's dream, that she'd originally threaten the lives of those that claimed they wanted to stay at this "Happy Hotel".

Although, you can't really blame her. She originally thought that creepy Radio Demon guy was trying to take over, so you'd probably be on edge too, if you were in her shoes.

You slowly shift your gaze up to the ceiling, and quietly reflect on the events that led you to where you are now.

When you first came to the hotel a few months ago with the intention of helping out, the moth-demon seemed suspicious about you, but would never directly voice her concerns.

While you were working, she would periodically follow you around and keep a close eye on you.

Whether you were counseling a sinner in need, or simply sweeping the floor, Vaggie was sure to be nearby. You'd usually just act like she wasn't there, but in truth, it confused you to no end.

When you eventually confronted her about her strange actions, she claimed that she just wanted to make sure you were 'doing your job correctly'. Seemed a bit rude, but whatever.

But this only continued as time went by. In fact, you noticed that while looking over your weekly work schedule, she'd almost always be working the same shift as you.

Clocking in as soon as you do, and clocking out at the exact same time as you.

You asked a few other people around the hotel about this. Charlie just shrugged it off as a silly coincidence, and Alastor said pretty much the same thing. Husker ignored your question and drank some more of his cheap booze.

Angel Dust "eloquently" suggested that she might have a crush on you, and might be trying to go on a date with you.

You thought she was pretty, sure, but had never once considered starting a serious relationship with the demon girl. However, you honestly wouldn't be opposed to the idea of going out with her.

Despite her strange behavior, as you got to know her better, you really started to develop a fondness for Vaggie.

The way she seems to smile a lot more often when she's around you, how she always laughs at all your corny jokes (even the ones you don't think are all that funny), how she seems more at ease around you.

After really thinking about Angel's words, you came to the realization that you had a crush on her as well.

So during your next shift together, you confessed your feelings to her. Vaggie initially had a shocked expression on her face, which made you think she truly didn't feel the same way that you do.

Heartbroken, you slowly turned around and began walking away from her, before she gently grabbed you by the hand, and softly told you to 'wait'.

You turned back to face her, when she suddenly pressed her lips to your own.

The rest, as they say, is history. The two of you became inseparable. She moved into your room at the hotel, and you bought a fantastic new King-of-Hell-sized bed for the both of you to share. Your life took an amazing turn, once the two of you started dating.

Being in a relationship with Vaggie was by far the best thing to happen to you, since you arrived in the Nine Circles.
