It was just any other day. I was playing, goofing off, and getting into trouble, as always. I was with my best friend and didn't have a care in the world. I, being a young child, had no idea who I was as a person yet or better yet, who I would grow up to be. All I knew about myself was that my name was Jasmine Marie Johnson,  I was seven years old, and lived in Louisiana. I didn't have any brothers or sisters, it was just me, my mom, and my dad. I had a best friend named Hunter and he was two years older than me. I loved music and, even though I was still very young, I knew that I always would. I didn't realize that every moment of every day counted, including those times with Hunter. I didn't know the value of time or happiness.

Also, I didn't know at that age, I had a lot of things coming that would turn me into the person I was meant to be.
Some would be exciting things that caused me to feel like I was on top of the world but others, would make me feel like my world was ending
and it was all over. Looking back now, I wouldn't change any of it. This is my Storyline.

                                                                                ~~~
It was the dog days of summer. I was running around outside with my best friend, Hunter Hayes. Him and I had known each other for as
long as I could remember. I was seven and he was nine. The two years between us seemed like forever, but that was okay because he was
my best friend and I hoped he always would be. To hear his and I's parents to say it now, I always looked at him like the stars that shine
in the sky. Like pretty lights. I remember hearing our dads always saying that we would grow up and fall in love. I never really knew what
they meant. Our moms would roll their eyes when our dads would joke about Hunter and I falling in love and I can still hear them say, "Oh my my my."
Hunter and I were involved in an intense game of tag. I didn't want to loose, but was too tired to continue. I was a stubborn child and
refused to tell him, "I quit," so I ran over to the big old oak tree that held our tree house high in its branches and began climbing the ladder.
The tree house was in a perfect spot. That big old oak provided ample space for our play house which was very large because of this. It
was perfectly located on the property line between Hunter and I's houses so you could say that we always met in the middle. When I reached
the top of the ladder, I climbed through the door and tumbled onto the two bean bag chairs inside.
The bean bag chairs had been Hunter
and I's parents latest gifts to us because we had been complaining that, "every kid in our whole school has them and we want them!" I
thought for one second that I had lost Hunter until I saw him tumble after me through the door.
"You're it!" he said, out of breath from climbing.
"I'm sick of playing tag Hunter! Can we play something else?" I whined.
"That means you quit! I win! I win! I beat Jasmine at tag! I win!" Hunter loudly gloated.
"I didn't quit! I said I was sick of playing it! I never said that I quit!"
Hunter continued to cheer at his apparent win. I pretended to pout, even though I wasn't mad or upset that he was bragging because I knew
that he didn't mean it. He plopped down on the bean bag beside me and smiled triumphantly at me.
"Let's play rock, paper, scissors!" I exclaimed. I always seemed to win at that game and I knew if I won that, Hunter would see us being
even at game wins.
"Okay! I will beat you this time! I am winning at every thing today!" he replied, referring to his previous wins at our jump rope competition
and our Go Fish game earlier in the day.
We played our game, and I, of course, won. I gave Hunter the same smile he gave me earlier.
"I win!" I exclaimed. I knew neither of us ever meant our bragging and teasing, it was always fun to go back forth. It gave us something to
do, it was our routine.
"That's not fair! I will beat you up!" Hunter always said that. He was bigger than me and could have if he wanted to, but he never did.
Hunter never did anything that would hurt me.
"I'm telling!" I said, laughing while I scrambled back down the ladder. I could hear Hunter laughing as he followed me. At the bottom of the
ladder, I jumped down and ran over to my mom.
"Mom! Hunter told me-"
"No I didn't! I didn't say anything!"
"That he's hungry!"
My mom laughed, shook her head, and said,
"Well, I guess I better get you two something to eat since Jas, are tattling that Hunter is hungry!" She knew what was going on. This was,
after all our normal routine. When she left to go make lunch, Hunter and I rolled on the ground, laughing so hard.
"You thought I was actually going to tell this time! You looked so worried!"
"I thought I was going to get in trouble! You know I never mean what I say!"
"I know Hunt. It is just fun to mess with you!"
My mom came back with sandwhiches for us. We ate without making noise except giggling. Afterwards, we scrambled back up into our
tree house retreat. We decided to play Truth or Dare. I dared Hunter the same thing that I always did.
"I dare you to kiss me."
He leaned over to me and I realized what he was going to do. I took back off out of the tree house once again. I ran around and around,
Hunter chasing after me, trying to kiss me.
And so, every day went like that for a long time. We were young, crazy kids who wanted nothing more than to let our imaginations run
wild, but not without the other one around of course. We finally started to make new routines, with new games, new jokes, and of course,
new things to bug the other. We never realized how much we would grow to cherish those silly moments.
