The company "Merrick" has been working on an antidote that would weaken the immortal powers for the 5 immortals. But, they project anyone injected with it will be immune to any natural illness. This will eliminate any survival of un natural causes if they are injected. to the CEO of Merrick, this could be the real world changer. They have been working on this "Cure" for almost as long as they knew about the immortals existence, but needed the DNA of one of them to complete the antidote.
Half way through the movie, two of the immortals were captured and taken to the CEO of Merrick. This is where he gets the final piece of his puzzle. The immortals dont know this secret plan and will start to unleash the antidote as a gas over all major citys. This threatens any immortal, even ones that were not seen on screen in the movie. To tie it all in, As a sequal, the remaining immortals can try to overcome this weakening "antidote", take down Merrick and restore the balance in the world.
