Chapter 4: The Hatred

"Well stand up and go. Shoo."

My eyes widened from shock. I look straight at his brown eyes. "I see. Your heart is as dark as your eyes. Shoo? Well, boohoo. I won't get out here unless i here you say 'please'"

And I hit him. Not literally, i mean, i caught his attention. His eyebrows met at once.

"Okay. Please. Now shoo."

"O come on. Shoo and please don't come in pair."

His next move really made my hair rise. Big pair of hands lifted my collars up and dragged me out of the room. "Next time i see you inside my room. I'll put away the respect left in me."

I swallowed the fear crawling around my body and tried to paint a smirk on my face. "As if there is even a bit left in you." I spat the words with confident. No one messes up with Alex.

The boy raised his left arm and closed his fist, ready to punch my nose out. Three. Two. One. Thank God, he froze... He froze? Literally, he froze. Ice covered his body and melted right after we found Alice standing in the corridor. "You, sir, are grounded for a week." I tried not to laugh. I glanced at his shivering body and stuck out my tongue. "Hey Alexandria, stop that! And go to your room."

I frowned at her and remembered our argument a while ago. "You don't need to tell me what to do. I have my own brain."

Before i could leave the place, Alice pulled my arm from her side. "Think about what your father told you. You should trust me so we can do things better."

"Then trust me first and give back the things i own."

"When you're ready, i promise."

I could see from her face that she meant what she said but i still feel angry. I ran to my room without them stopping me.

I threw my body onto the bed and stared at the ceiling. I thought of everything peculiar that happened today. The things that i never expected to exist. People with powers which they use in different ways. A house vacated by only a few people but still as big as the White House. It's like everything was just a dream. A very long dream trying to haunt me to death.

A pearl of tears fell from my eye. I prayed with all my will that this whole thing is just a pigment of my imagination. If not because of this sorcery thing, my father would have been alive and smiling at me right now. Kissing my forehead and singing for me until i fall asleep.

Silence and darkness covered the night. I closed my eyes but opened it again when i felt something weird. My body shivered as the cool breeze creep around my skin. I pulled the blanket closer to me and sensed the wind pass the cold feeling into my ears. "My dear, come to me.... Come to me..." A voice much different from the previous one i heard from my locket. It's like a voice of an old woman asking for help. And i feel myself floating in mid-air, my eyes still focused on the ceiling. "Come... To... Me..." The voice told me once more. "Wait for me, My lady." What the... I was shocked because those words came directly from my own mouth. I am being controlled and i absolutely need help. I tried to block her voice from my mind because she... I mean, me... Uhm... I? am now standing at the edge of the window, ready to jump. My heart is beating very fast as if yelling "Someone help this poor girl before she kills me."

This is it. This is the time my life will end. A suicide by a girl who can't move herself... literally. Three. Two. One... My body raised my left feet and... Someone pulled me backwards. I shut my eyes because of fear until my butt hits the ground. I cried so loud that i can't even control it like how i let that voice put control over me. I raised my head and glanced at the face of my hero. "You!" I said when i realised he was the same person who tried to punch me a while ago. He frowned at my frustration. "Wow. You're welcome. You look so HAPPY after i saved you from taking your only life."

"Ugh. For your information, a voice controlled me. And i would rather die than to thank you from trying to punch me the first time we met."

"Well, fine. Who cares? If you need to be saved, i won't volunteer again. So, good luck!" He gave me a forced smile and walked out the room. I grabbed my pillow and followed him. "Uhm. Mr. Whoever? Do you know where Jane's room is?"

He jumped a little and looked at me with the usual frown.

"When do you plan to stop ruining my life?"

I look at him straight into his eyes. I thought of looking for the soft spot in his soul (in case there is). I smiled and used my puppy eyes against him. He is going down.

"What are you planning? Hey stop!" I leaned closer to him, still smiling. He tried to push me away but i used my pillow as a shield.

"This will be your punishment for not answering my question properly." I whispered to him sweetly.

I moved my head closer to his'. Surprisingly, he bit the bait, he just closed his eyes preparing for a kiss. I laughed so loud that he opened his eyes quickly.

"See. You are just like other boys. A pervert." I smirked and walked to my stepmother's room.

I sneaked into her room and found her sleeping soundly on her bed. I lay down beside her. "Good Night Jane!" I closed my eyes and felt a pair of arms wrap protectively around me. "Good Night Alex!"

I managed a smile and immediately fell asleep.

"Alexandria, come to me my dear, who owns the same blood as mine. Come." said the voice that controlled me a while ago. I found myself in front of a mirror. I looked at it and saw a big difference from my own body. My reflection is wearing a white sleeveless dress that ends just above my knees, very different from the shirt and jeans i was wearing. My hair on the mirror was tied in a bun. I looked...different. My eyes was not green. Its color was brown. Dark as the night sky. It looked as if it was blank. As if my mind was blank. "I'm here my lady. Wait for me." My reflection said and a woman wearing a mask appeared next to her. She looked at the real me and whispered. "See, Alexandria. This is your fate. You'll be my serv.." Bang! Bang! A sound harshly hit my ears. I put my hand on my forehead and wiped away the sweat of fear i caught from my dream. I looked at Jane and she was still sleeping, unaffected by the noise. I went out without worrying to wake her up. That noise can't even put her into senses. So yeah, i didn't care. I followed the noise and found that bastard hitting a large piece of metal with a large spoon. "Hey! What're you think you're doing?" I shouted. "I think i'm trying to wake you up." He rolled his eyes and stopped what he was doing.

"Go down and eat. Get dress and get ready for school. Mom's orders."

"School? But my school's too far from here."

"Stupid. You're going to attend mom's school. Just listen to me and get ready. Let my mom explain it to you later."

Ah... So Alice is his mom. I can tell from their attitude. I mean, the bossy attitude. Super alike. Ugh, i just hate him.
