Darkness will always be around us. No light will ever be able to eradicate all of it, but I will keep it from harming others I will become a light, a beacon of hope.
The world has become a desolate plane of dust and grime ever since the Empire struck the world with what they called 'project doomsday'. My father was apart of the Rebels, the squad of elite soldiers that were our worlds last line of defense. All of them including my father lost their lives because of the absolute power of the Empires weapon. Even I wouldn't be able to withstand the might of that weapon and have been cursed with the powers of the devil. My mother took her own life because of the pain she had to injure when my father died. Now I just scavenge for food and water trying to make a name for myself by fighting of bandits with my ability and picking of leftover Empire scum. It's more of a ruff life then I wanted but I just can't help making sure everyone is saved even if it costs me my life. It's in my blood.
I've been walking for days with just a small amount of water just hoping for someone or something to either end me or help me. After all my life has been filled with only sorrow and pain there is nothing left living for anymore. All of these thoughts rushed through my brain as my vision starts to cave in. This was it the end, dying because I couldn't take down a few thugs, the end because I retreated, the end because I'm weak.
I wake up nauseous and tired but instead of seeing the golden gates to the afterlife as I sit up I see an old blind man standing in front of me. I ask him in a confused tone "wh... who are you?" he just looks at me and says "what an intriguing specimen you are" I look back at him and just sit there. after a few seconds of silence he finally answers me saying "why don't you show me some flame boy. I continue to just sit there stunned then I slowly sit up and walk outside. The old man follows me and when we get outside he says once again "so are you going to show me some flame boy?" After a few more minutes of waiting I blast as much as I can into the sky whilst screaming "THERE!!!" The old man just continues to look at me blankly then he says in a thundering voice. "Well then I have a lot on my hands don't I"
