forever isn't always eternity - chapter one

"i'm breaking up with you." Jughead says to a now heartbroken betty. "we're just.. to different, and i can't do this anymore, betts," he starts until she cuts him off.

"don't... don't call me that." she says simply, the broken showing in her voice.

There was a long pause before betty continued, "am i not good enough? is that what it is, juggie?" she asks him with tears in her eyes.

He sighs, "no, betty, no – of course not. You are good enough, but i've just..."

"you've just what? found someone who is better in bed at making love? more pretty? more perfect?" she says.

"betty – " jughead tries.

"you told me you loved me, and i told you i loved you back. I was stupid enough to believe you too. I guess the only difference was that I actually meant it."

Her sadness quickly turned into anger. Hatred, at least thats what it was in that moment.

"God – did our relationship mean anything to you!?" she yelled at him.

By now bettys neighbors were probably looking at them from their windows. Two hopeless romantic teenagers, yelling at each other with tears in their eyes, being lost in young love.

Soon, alice and hal came outside from hearing them yell; well, mostly betty yelling as jughead was trying to stay calm and not cry. When alice and hal came outside, they quickly realized what was happening. Alice helped betty calm down and she took her inside while hal yelled many things at jughead. Lets just say they weren't the nicest things.

The two teenagers that thought they were going to last forever, ended up lasting what seemed like a minute put into a bottle that could easily be crushed.

Forever, isn't always eternity.
