it was summer break, and Idgie needed a break. She was a youngster, only around 9, when she processed the day had began, got dressed, and begged and pleaded her mom to look for some flowers at the park with her. After about five minutes of breath-holding, pouting, and eye-wiping, her mom finally abided. Her dad called from the room, a little slurred and groggy;
"Don'tbe la..te, i have an intervie.w at 11:00"
Idgie was a sweet little one, really. She loved plants and had her mind set on being a botanist when she was older.
Once they got to the local park in Georgia, the one where this story skyrockets off, she left her mother and ran to the flower beds in the mulch and wood-chips. At the moment she arrived there, a taller girl arrived behind her.
"Baby's breath.. an amazing choice to put in an open area like this" she spoke to nobody in particular. Idgie then noticed a bee on one of the fragile blossoms, still as a stone.
"Oh no- c'mere lil guy" she spoke as she goaded the small bee onto the back of her hand. She then laid it down on a leaf, grounded, near some water. She peeked at the girl again, fondly, grinning ear to ear, her red waves flowing in the wind. The other girl smiled slightly back, flushed. The ginger let out a giggle, adjusted her dress, and skipped back to her mom, leaving the gothic child in awe. Idgie turned around and locked eyes with the other young one for another flashby of time. The wind whipped around strands of both the girl's hair. The warmhearted girl was tugged along by her mother, baby's breath in hand.
