CHAPTER 10: I KNOW HER

CALIBER'S POV

I just arrived at Mr. Lising's birthday party. He's a business partner so I decided to attend kahit na ayaw kong makipag socialize sa mga plastic na tao. I looked around and saw Kaden waving at me.

I started walking to his direction because he is literally the only person I know in this party. A waiter stopped in front of me to offer a glass of wine and I gladly took one.

The moment I took a another step a woman suddenly came out of nowhere. "Shit," I whispered. The wine spilled on my suit and seeped through it, making me shiver from the sudden contact of cold fluid to my body.

The woman turned around and I saw a fucking angel in front of me. Her raven hair was curled into soft waves. She wore light make up but it made her stand out from the crowd. Those kissable lips are inviting me. I started leaning forward.

"Pasensya na sa nangyari nabasa pa tuloy ang suot mo." I stopped leaning forward. Tangina naman muntik ko na siyang halikan. "Ikaw ung napagkamalang medic diba?" I cursed inside my head from her remark. My ears felt hot and she was looking at them.

"Can you please give me a towel instead of asking nonsense questions?" I coldly said to get her attention away from my ears. She looked irritated from my remark and asked a waiter to get a towel for me.

The man behind her took a tissue and started wiping the wet part of her dress. I think I remember this man. I squinted my eyes but I can't remember where I saw him before.

"Sorry Solar. Hindi ko sadya. Ikaw naman kasi ang lampa lampa mo konting tulak lang natutumba ka agad." He ranted still wiping the wet dress.

The woman raised a brow and slapped the man's hand. "Ako na. Kaya ko." She started wiping her gown. I examined her and noticed that the gown was an off shoulder red gown. It looked good on her and emphasized her tanned complexion.

I stopped admiring her when I noticed the man looking at me. The waiter didn't take long and handed me a piece of towel together with a paper bag. I peeked in the paper bag and saw some spare clothes. I took both and walked towards Kaden.

He was chuckling when I stopped in front of him. "Mukha kang basang sisiw." I hit him with the paper bag. "Chill. You just looked so funny earlier. Anyways I'll ask where the bathroom is so you can change your clothes 'cause you're so... wet." He ran away from me before I can hit him again.

A few minutes passed and Kaden came back to where he left me. He guided me to the nearest bathroom.

I started changing my clothes because I smelt like wine. I took a last glance in front of the mirror and nodded my head from the outfit change. I now wore a dark gray button up long sleeve partnered with my black slacks.

I tucked it in and opened two buttons since I'm not wearing a tie. I also messed my hair a little to match the outfit. "There. You look so handsome, Cali," I talked to myself and smiled like an idiot.

"Hoy Caliber don't talk to yourself in their. I can hear you from here, you know," Kaden shouted from outside the door.

"Pake mo ba."

People had confused faces when they saw my change of outfit. I shrugged it off and started approaching people I know to talk about business.

I talked to tycoons, artists, models, and the likes for hours. I decided to sit down since my legs hurt from too much standing. Kaden approached me and sat next to me.

"You're a busy man." He nudged me playfully and chuckled.

"And you're not? I think you already talked to every single person present in this party." He frowned from my remark.

"Panira ka ng trip no? You should be thankful I have a patience longer than the wall of China kaya napag titiisan ko ung pag uugali mo." I laughed. "Tinawanan mo pa ako ngayon?" He crossed both hands in front of him and started sulking.

"Will you stop acting like a child?" He pouted and didn't look at me. "You aren't even a woman so stop acting like one."

"Ouch ha. Nakakahurt so mukha na akong bakla ngayon?" He held his chest like he was actually hurt from what I said.

"Stop being dramatic." My eyes landed on a woman who is currently standing next to Mr. Maniquis. I know him since he's a prospect business partner. We met twice or thrice? I don't remember. He wants to partner up with our company but I'm still deciding whether to do so or not.

The woman looks bored since she was looking at the ground. She still looked gorgeous though and I don't know why.

"Hoy baka malusaw naman yung babae niyan," Bulong ni Kaden. Inisnaban ko na lang siya at tinignan ulit ung babae. "Her name's Solar and she's the daughter of Mr. Maniquis." I looked at him and raised a brow.

"I know her name."

"Chill sinasabi ko lang so you'd be informed." He raised both hands in surrender. I ignored him and continued staring at her. I don't mind being judge by people with what I'm doing right now. I mean, who in their right mind would not stare at a beauty, especially if its in front of you.

"Cali, your mom's coming," Kaden whispered but I ignored him because I know mom is not here. She told me she's going to bond with her friends tonight.

I let her do what she wants since she's old already. What the?! I sounded like a father. Ew.

"Anak sinong tinitignan mo diyan? She's beautiful."

"Yeah, she is." I smiled and it disappeared after a few seconds. I looked at the woman next to me and raised a brow. "Ma I thought you're with your friends?" She nodded her head and sipped on her wine glass.

"I am. Mrs. Lising and my other amigas are here to celebrate Mr. Lising's birthday."

"Why didn't you tell me earlier? Para sabay na po tayong pumunta dito."

"I didn't know this is the party you told me earlier. You just informed me yesterday that you'll attend a party."

"Yeah, I remember not informing you about the details of the party."

"Back to the topic earlier. Ang ganda naman ng tinititigan mo anak. Pakilala kita. I know her mother from way back." She wiggled her eyebrows playfully.

"Ma hindi mo naman akong kailangang ilakad sa isang babae. I know how to court women, okay?"

"Oo marunong ka ngang manligaw pero hanggang ngayon nakaupo ka padin diyan at hanggang tingin ka lang." She put the glass of wine of the table and crossed both her arms in front of her.

I ignored her but minutes after she dragged me in front of Solar. Mom has a wide smile on her face and stretched her hand in front of her. "Hello, I'm Ana Pancho. I'm friends with your mom." They shook hands but Solar looked shy. "This is my son," Biglang hila sakin ni mama. "His name's Caliber Pancho." I looked at Solar and saw how shocked she was. "This is Solar, anak."

"I know her, Ma. She's the soldier I told you the other day." Mom looked at me with wide eyes. I then looked at Solar and saw the confusion written on her face.
