Notes: Well, here it is. I have officially started shipping Koh/Sayo, despite the most obviously trending Koh/Asuna and Takamichi/Sayo ships out there. Reason why I ship them is because I think they compliment each other very well - both of them share an immense passion for protecting and preserving life. Koh is childlike, courageous and a ferocious warrior; but is surprisingly wise and mature when he needs to be. Sayo is sweet, calm and mature, but is no pushover in battle. Both of them care immensely for their teammates. This obviously takes place after the yet-to-come, still-nonexistent Mashin Sentai Kiramager vs. Ryusoulger movie.

Ooharu Sayo sat on a bench outside the hospital, her face buried in her hands. Usually, even when there were dark clouds in her mind, she would always smile through it - one of God's gifts of grace to her. But today, the clouds were so dark and so stormy that she couldn't find anything worth smiling about.
How could this have happened? She thought miserably, again and again. I failed...I once said I would never fail, but I failed...
She felt something that she hadn't felt in a long while: utterly weak, helpless and distraught. Despair, hopelessness and guilt swarmed over her entire being, holding her in an inescapable iron grip, threatening to kill and destroy everything that had caused her to shine as a surgeon and as a Kiramager.
"Sayo?"
Sayo looked up, hastily blinking away the tears in her eyes, meeting the eyes of her boyfriend of almost a year. "Koh?"
Koh smiled, though he didn't show his teeth. Sayo glanced at her watch, before looking back at him in surprise.
"That's odd...don't you usually end work at 6pm?" Koh grinned slightly.
"Genta-san let me off early. He told me to bring this for you." Koh lifted a plastic bag, containing an entire packet of his and Sayo's favourite sushi. "May I sit?"
Swallowing the massive lump in her throat, Sayo nodded, and shifted so that Koh sat next to her on her left.
The two had met during the Mashin Sentai Kiramager vs. Ryusoulger movie. They initially thought of each other as the Red Ranger from one team (although, he was a very dashing Red Ranger) and the Pink Ranger from the other team (she was very pretty, though. I couldn't help staring at her for a second longer). It was when, two weeks after their joint battle, Koh had brought a severely injured Tatsui Naohisa to the hospital where Sayo was working at, and had pleaded Sayo (along with a sobbing Ui) to save him. Sayo had succeeded, of course, but during the times when Naohisa was recovering, Koh and Sayo found more opportunities to talk to each other, and well...they clicked.
They found that they both shared an enormous passion for protecting and preserving life, and they both cared immensely for their teammates. Koh was attracted to Sayo's resolve to save lives, especially in life-or-death situations, while Sayo was enamoured by Koh's bravery in battle, and his cheerful, childlike personality. Well, as they say, eventually, one thing led to another, and at this point, they had been dating for over 11 months.
The two sat in silence for a long while, Koh patiently waiting for Sayo to speak. When she didn't, he spoke quietly, just loud enough for her to hear, "Juuru and Helico told me what happened. Are you alright?" Sayo shot him an annoyed look, "Does it look like I'm alright?"
Taking deep breaths to calm his anger at Sayo's attitude, Koh said, "Tell me how you're feeling right now, Sayo."
"I don't want to." Sayo said, averting her eyes.
"Please tell me." Koh repeated, patiently.
"I don't want to." Sayo repeated, hoping Koh could catch the underlying tones of anger in her voice and drop it.

RomanceThe next thing she felt was being pulled gently into a warm embrace, with strong, sturdy hands caressing her hair. "It's okay," Koh said, "just cry." And with that, the damn broke, and for the first time in 20 years, Ooharu Sayo cried.
