She watched as the girl grabbed his hand, interlocking it with her own. Her smile was bright as she trailed behind him out the door. She felt her legs sink into the floor below her as her feelings became heavy again.
"She's not even worth it," Julie said, pulling her friend back from her focus on the redhead and her newest boy toy.
Y/N shakes her head, recomposing herself and looking over at her best friend with her lips pursed "It doesn't even matter. It was just one kiss. It wasn't like we were together or anything..." She shoved another book into her backpack, zipped it up, and threw it over her shoulder.
"Yeah, right..." Julie said, "Because you clearly weren't staring at her and Nick with those pathetic puppy dog eyes again." She put her hands up, miming dog paws in her direction. She laughed, pushing Julie's shoulder back.
"Okay, okay, I liked her a lot alright? It's hard to just snap out of that."
Julie raises her hands to the ceiling "She finally admitted that she has emotions, it's a miracle!"
She shoved her hands in her pockets, shushing her friend and avoiding the growing glances in their direction. Julie wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pushed open the school's front doors.
"Are you still coming over to hang out with the boys and I tonight?" Julie blinking dramatically with what she called her 'sad eyes.' Y/N shook her head at her pathetic excuse for a best friend and grabbed her arm, placing it off her shoulders as they walked down the sidewalk.
"Yeah, is Luke going to be there though?"
Julie rolled her eyes "Duh, of course, he is." She sighed, slightly dragging her feet to add to the dramatics of it all.
She had met the guys multiple times since Julie joined the band, and overall, she really enjoyed their company, well most of them. Luke had always given her a hard time for no apparent reason. He was always calling her things like "peach" or "cupcake" and shoving her and messing up her hair. He was incredibly immature and it drove her insane.
"You two are so obnoxious, can't you just kiss and get it over with already?"
Y/N stopped dead in her tracks, turning to face Julie. "You do not actually think I-" She fake gagged "Like Luke Patterson do you?"
Julie put her hand on her hip "Yes, I do, and I think he likes you too. The kid is clearly stuck in the 90s and thinks that playground stuff will work on you."
She stopped the conversation and walked into Julie's kitchen. She opened the fridge and took out two juice boxes, holding one back for Julie to grab. The two sat across from each other at the kitchen island, eating some snacks before walking out to the garage
Julie opened the doors, walking toward the tall blonde drummer waving at her. Y/N followed suit, only to be suddenly lurched backward. She braced for the pain of hitting the floor when she realized it never came. Instead, she opened her eyes to Luke's snide grin and his arm around her waist.
"Careful there Peach, never know when a rogue drumstick may take you down."
She heard Alex mutter a "sorry!" and concealed a giggle. Realizing she'd been sitting in his arms for far too long, she stood up abruptly, brushing herself off and walking toward Julie.
"Not even a thank you? You're breakin' my heart Peach."
Y/N caught Julie shaking her head at the ridiculous scene in front of her and mouthed "I'm going to kill him" with fists balled at her sides. As she approached their little circle, they all looked at her with goofy grins as they held in their laughter.
